I don't know why, Suraiya is not leaving my heart! 😳
Hi friends, here is my gift for today ---
Since you're posting Suraiyya, Madhu, here's one more of her songs that I love from Badi Behen (1949), music by Husnlal Bhagatram and lyrics by Qamar Jalalabadi. Look out for a very young (and quite handsome)😳 Rehman!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PxyuUaL5Qjc
This movie also has the more famous 'Chale Jaana Nahi' picturized on Geeta Bali trying to woo Pran of all people 😆! But he does look suave in this one!😳
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eeCvhIQc-o
P.S. Is anyone else facing trouble with embedding YT links? I had to try 3 different links before I found one that embedded ! Why is it so random?
These 2 songs were once upon a time Radio Ceylon's favorite songs, every day they used to play these in the Bhoole Bheesare Geet program! My mom used to listen that program some 40 years back , when she was yet to be married! 😃Originally posted by: LizzieBennet

Yes I know Jawan hai Mohabbat is by Noor Jehan, but you've been sharing so much Suraiyya, so I thought I'd post one more.
I love this duet by Noor Jehan and Rafi. One of Rafi's first hit songs that established him firmly as a playback singer. Jugnu is among Dilip Kumar's first films as a lead hero. This is from 1947 with music by Firoz Nizami and lyrics by Asgar Sarhadi and M.D. Adeeb.
I think it was post this movie that Noor Jehan decided to migrate to Pakistan.
R I P Dilip Kumar.
A few memories---
What a melodious Song! Love it. Hats off to O.P Nayyar, Rafi Sahab and Aasha Ji. Last but not the least excellent direction by B.R Chopra and phenomenal expressions by Vyjayantimala and , the greatest actor of all time, Mr. Dilip Kumar.

I’m actually heartbroken ðŸ˜. What a sublime actor he was! The finest. It took me a long time to see his genius. I would measure his worth by his roles and not his performances. When you look at his body of work, there isn’t a single performance you can fault. So it’s true stars continue shine and illuminate, showing their brilliance in the stark night sky. He will shine on. RIP, Yusuf Saab. The Hindi film industry will never be the same without your brilliance!
What a coincidence though that the first and the last song I posted were his! ðŸ˜
