Lovely song, Mousy.
Roshan was such a gifted composer. IMO, he's responsible for popularizing qawwalis in Hindi film music, being the man behind what I call the 'baap' of all qawwalis - 'Na toh karvaan ki talaash hai' which I think encompasses the essence of the qawwali to a T - the back and forth, the differing points of view and the competitive element in the form of 'nok jhok'. Such a brilliant song, made even more brilliant by Sahir's lyrics. This song and 'Hum bhi dekhenge" from Mughal-e-Azam I think are textbook qawwalis.
Here's yet another Roshan - Sahir qawwali that I love. This does not have the back and forth, just extols the virtues of love and all its trappings. Beautiful song in raag Yaman and so beautifully sung by Asha B.
I remember watching an online tutorial on Hindustani classical ragas on Youtube and the host used this song and the sargam 'Ni re ga" saying if you can spot this Sargam in any song, it's Raag Yaman. And Asha actually starts and ends with this sargam in the string of sargams she sings. So good!❤️
Nighein milane ko jee chahta hai...
Dil-o-jaan lutane ko jee chahta hai
Jis ghadi meri nigahon ko teri deed huyi
Woh ghadi mere liye aish ki tamheed huyi
Jab kabhi maine tera chand sa chehra dekha
Eid ho ya ke na ho mere liye eid huyi (so brilliantly said! Sahir is unbelievable! - this is among my top favorite lines in a Hindi song ever!)

ETA: One of the YouTube comments mentions that this was Saroj Khan's first song as choreographer at 13! 😲 I have no idea if this is true, can anyone confirm?
