No you didn't go off track ... In fact what you wrote is on the point and correct.

You are right that Ahaan has never been cunning or manipulative. In fact, he is too polished to retort even when he could have done it easily. For e.g.

When Ishqi questioned on his degrees he never retorted back to her saying - Khud ki bhi English Dekh lo...

When he was irritated with Ishqi even then he did damage to her openly informing her beforehand. I accept what he did was wrong but we have to accept that he never backstabbed.

And unfortunately, he is surrounded by all wrong people be it his SUPER MAKKAAR Daadi, so called ex fiancé Rhea or his SUPER CUNNING BEST FRIEND Mayank.

And for Ahaan it's hard to digest so much cunningness that is why he still believes that humanity is still left somewhere. He still believes that girls do maintain their optimum dignity so the very thought itself is inconceivable to him that a girl can stoop so low.
