I rewatched the scene twice now. I agree with you on some points and on some, I do not.

Lemme explain, I don't think he realized it was Bondita but he definitely did have a suspicion that he must be a woman and maybe, in some part of his mind, he might have expected Bondita because of the way he kept trying to look at her eyes.

But, I don't think he knew it was Bondita until she said so.. he was thinking it was a woman and probably, a spy. This guy has the habit of chasing after mysterious figures

ani is like any human being ,he knows what he wants but doesnt want to take the responsibility .this way he could say ki mujhe nh pta when he actually did have an idea
