Why is THIS age-gap not being discussed? - Page 4

My biggest issue with age gap casting is when guy doesn't play his age.

I was okay when SRK in CE&JHMS, Sallu in Kick/Sultan/so on movies, Akki in TEPK/Housefull, Ajay in Golmaal/Shingam and so on, all played roles of older guys who went into relationship with much younger girls. I think the beef is obviously when they try to play a young guy and doesn't look the part.

What’s really troubling is why aren’t these men in their 50s romancing women in their 50s ? Or 40s? Why doesn’t Akshay do a music video or film with Madhuri or Tabu or some other actress in that age group? I think it’s 2 things - one, these men want to be seen as evergreen heroes, eternally young and capable of successfully pulling off romantic roles with women young enough to be their daughters 🤢

Two - it’s the audience mindset also that strangely accepts these creepy pairings when the man is older but not the other way around. Says a lot about how the audience thinks.

Anyway most offputting for me is the sucking up these women have to do to these ‘senior’ actors - calling them Sir, raving about their talent. After reading this post I checked Nupur Sanon’s Instagram and sure enough, her Insta story goes - ‘Sir, can’t wait for the world to see your magic in Filhaal2” 🤢

Could they BE any more obvious ??

Sad to see a young girl taking advantage of her sister goodwill to get a hero working in a stupid music video , so she can get benefits in industry.

I don't understand this age gap issue, if performers don't have a problem then why is this discussed at all?

Should Akshay, Salman and all big actors who have crossed a certain age meddle in casting and ask for young performers to not feature opossite them? They are doing their jobs, I don't see the problem unless the character is juvenile

I don't think age gap matters if two people like each other although it may seem a bit icky to others but problem with Bollywood showing such pairs is the way they portray these guys as if they are in their 30s.

Leave aside everything why is this music video being treated like some movie? Teaser of MV really? Also the first one was super cringe.

In acting, it shouldn't matter if a 100 year old plays a 20 year old as long as they look the part.. it's acting. Similarly the age gap doesn't matter because once again it's acting. If they look the part, there's absolutely no reason to complain..

It's just a music video not a full-fledged movie

I don’t understand this age debate. I don’t care if the women is older or the men is older, as long as they look good together that’s what matters. This is kriti’s sister and I don’t find her pretty, they should’ve chosen kriti or any other actress for this song. I don’t think she has what it takes to make it. Akshay looks good for his age. And it’s acting. Btw in real life men marry women younger and women are marrying men younger as well why not have that on screen since it happens in real life. Age is just a number. Adult is an adult.
