| Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar to enter living rooms |
| Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar are all set to revive the old connection between big stars and the small screen. Both of them will be entering the viewers living rooms with their reality shows. Salman Khan has been signed by Sony Entertainment Television to host 'Dus Ka Dum', an adaptation of the American show 'Power of Ten' hosted by Drew Carey, 'The Price is Right'. The show goes on air in June this year. Before 'Dus Ka Dum' goes on air, the channel will conduct a series of nationwide polls on issues concerning the country, results of which will be collected in a data bank. During the show, each participant will be asked to guess the answer that garnered the highest percentage of votes from the public in the survey. A correct guess will result in their prize money being multiplied by ten. Participants can win Rs 10 million by answering five questions correctly. Shah Rukh Khan is helping his friend Salman Khan with the latter's upcoming television show. "I believe I have some experience to pass on. Otherwise, Salman is a honed actor," says SRK, who is television's most popular host these days. Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar will host the desi version of 'Fear Factor' on AXN, a show with daring stunts where participants must shed or face their fears. The channel thinks that Akshay is the perfect choice of host for the show, a view that is shared by the Bollywood daredevil too. "If I hadn't become an actor, I would have been a sports person. I love martial arts, bungee jumping and mountain climbing." says Kumar. Akshay, who loves doing most of the stunts in his movies, will not only perform some hair-raising ones for the show but will also guide the contestants in their attempts. As for the moneys, we're talking big bucks here. Salman Khan makes a cool Rs 90 crore to host 100 episodes, while Akshay Kumar has signed a record deal of Rs 1.5 crore per episode to complete the show on AXN. |
