I want to make a point here - it has been said that this matter is about Sonu & the Malhotras & Ishqi is an outsider to that situation. We forget that an important aspect of Mayank’s crime was that along with harrassing Sonu, he cheated Ishqi & almost married her out of ill-intention. Then he framed her as having pushed his father & provoked him to suicide. Then he attacked her & almost molested her too. So she is very much involved & a co-victim & as justified as Sonu or the Malhotras in wanting to see Mayank punished.

I found the scene pretty good. Ishqi has most of the times been mild with Sarla despite the amount of taunts she threw at her but now, the situation seemed out of hands. Sarla's take on Sonu's molestation thing was bound to bring out a reaction within Ishqi - and I liked that. In my opinion, this was the time for Sarla to listen and a mild explanation would have neither calmed her nor toned her down.

But I think Ishqi has had enough. I liked the line "is sab meing aap kaise victim ho gaye?" - THIS. This line is so powerful because aunties like Sarla love to make everything about them. I actually like Ishqi today more. Sonu and her have been quiet all this time after ALL the trauma because they are scared of what Sarla will do. What a sad and hypocritical society are we in that we are not scared that a girl got molested but what her MIL will think. It's heights of testing someone's patience.

I live overseas and honestly if I saw someone sprouting non-sense like Sarla - no matter who and what relation and how much older they are I would probably take the Ishqi route. Enough is Enough. I'm lucky to be from a family where we can correct are elders and also lucky to be married into a family where one can speak their mind. Elder listen and also apologise if they are wrong.

Sarla should have been told all this yesterday (as in someone shoudl have given this dose long time ago).

High time we change the society that is scared of elders and calls it "respect". Respect is earned - its not a birth right because someone just happens to be born before me.

There's nothing about living overseas or living in India.

We grow up with values and teachings which is solely not dependent on where we live.

I've been brought up with the same thinking.

But for me speaking up is never selective.

Sarla has been taunting Ishqi since the beginning, tarnishing her image and saying pretty nasty things to her but 99% of the times I've seen her crying and letting it go with some explanation like 'Aunty Ji mene nhi kia'. She kept on crying every single time.

Where she could've easily spoken up. First she wasn't marrying in her family , second Sarla was no one to jump into her matters every now and then like she did in each and every function of her's. But she stayed quiet through out the time. For instance she's been calling her out in every single matter and she deserved a tight slap each and every time.

She was not wrong Calling her out but honestly today the whole thing was not about ISHQI but was about Raj and Sonu.

This time she poking into the matter with this attitude and throwing Ahaan aside was not appropriate.

That's why people here are saying it felt out of character.

I would still say she had pretty sensitive and valid points to tell Sarla regarding this matter but she chose standards and class, how modern she is etc.

Also, while Dadi was bashing her she stayed quiet and cried buckets. Dadi said way pretty nasty stuff about her and being calling out someone selective today itself was out of character.

She's not just outsider in Sarla's thing but she has never spoken up against her (when it was 100% required) was for the sake of Malhotra family when she wasn't even a part of it, but now she's becoming a one so it was appropriate for her to listen to Ahaan while he was asking her to leave it.

IMO Raj was giving it on her face, he was defending Sonu and got a slap on his face as well. There was no point Raj was gonna leave Sonu's side.

Sarla was fighting her son inside the room where everybody was eves dropping, but Dadi was bashing her in front of everyone.

I don't know why people are taking it as we should not put up our points when elders are wrong, where I'm just saying that we should play and act along with regards to the situation. Because in the end it was about the entire family.

Actually my parents who are a different generation completely agreed with Ishqi on this and said that ppl like Sarla, this is the only way they understand any logic sadly.

In any case after rewatching I didn’t mind it - after all the crass thrown her way and even Sonu’s way, sometime you need to take a stand.

Her way of speaking could have been better but things happen when ppl are running high on emotions - it’s not like she calculated what all to say -
It just came out. She’s not a robot and a human can have their moment in any such argument / discussion.

I ask my parents about their take and my dad said if sarla was my samdhi i would have told her off on her face who she think she is and why does it always has to be about her, atleast think for her son and have more compassionate for the daughter in law who already suffered.

I think that's why Ishqaan confrontation would be there today.

Ishqi reached her saturation and spoke up but Ahaan's POV would be good to listen to.

I think this will strengthen their bond that with different thinking they still understand each other.

Both have different reactions but both are correct in their respective way.

But yes I was waiting for this confrontation since the sneak peek but I expected a little more. I remember how Ishqi calmed Sonu down with such a deep and sensitive points about a girl, society, family etc.

Could've been good to show up the same on Sarla's face.

Actually it matters if you live in India or overseas - because everyone in India says " respect them they are our elders" which is incorrect. Respect those who do things that deserve respect. Not because of age. Respecting someone who does not respect you leads to mental abuse and trauma - but that is a topic for another day.

Secondly Ishqi Has had ENOUGH - She has stayed quiet - ENOUGH. Sarla has crossed limits. everyone has a tolerance - once you out do the tolerance the result is Ishqi getting upset. She has stayed quiet because she could tolerate it and suddenly she cant coz she has suffered enough. Enough at the hands of Sarla, Mayank and even Ahaan type of people. Her tolerance was due to break sooner or later and it did and the results is this.

The reason Ishqi brought in class and modernity is because Sarla keeps harping on about it herself.

As For Dadi - Dadi has not said half as much crap as Sarla has. So again she has tolerance for her.

Honestly Ishqi is great for having such a high tolerance level. If I knew someone like Sarla in my life I would have given her my piece of mind much earlier on and made sure that the adults in the house did not give her the the time of day. Stupid classless ignorant woman.

I really don't think Ishqi went out of character, she has always been like this, atleast this is what I think. About Sarla Aunty, I think what she did was right actually. That woman has been humiliating literally everyone since the very epi she entered the show! She didn't made fun of her, she just stated the facts. Everyone was apologizing to her and I was actually so annoyed by that. Sarla Aunty baato ki bhoot nhi hai.

I thought Sarla was ott. Selfish woman. Someone had to make her face the reality, Ishqi was right in whatever she told her. 👍🏼

Her sidekick for once had nothing to say or make faces. Thank god did not say Yes Sarlu to sarlu's ott drama 😆
