As I find it difficult to follow through many stories posted here on RaghVi beyond few paras or sentences, It got me thinking what exactly might be the reason for the same. The reason I came up with was the character essence, The stories can be any different but the basic character traits of characters if changed doesn't seem to be story of these characters and more of just stories pushed with names of the characters. Thus putting off the reason to read. So I tried thinking of traits which can be attached with these characters.

Raghav - Rich, arrogance, pride, family person, sarcastic, protective, no BS attitude

Pallavi - Mature, full of life, honor, simplicity, healer, non-confrontational, chatterbox

Opinions? Additional traits or ur experiences with stories posted here. Anyone else also facing troubles in following stories.

Just a note to any writer reading the same. Its not to stop anyone from writing as its a very creative way out to spread ur horizon and all the points mentioned are just personal preference. 99% people can disagree with the same and thats perfectly fine. So, do write. Its really a great thing to have. A getaway to be creative.

As a person who has posted and read the one-shots here I agree with what you have said. The number of readers or likes or comments are huge for the stories with the RaghVi our CVS gave us but when an alternate universe comes, the interest is not so high.

I have more unread stories here than read because I can't keep up with all and then I don't really read much AU because Raghav and Pallavi are RaghVi with the traits you mentioned in your post. (I only read shots, no fan fictions).

So I want to tell the writers here, don't be disheartened if you get less likes and comments when you try AU it's not because your stories are not good enough but because a different Raghav and Pallavi with different character traits are not much fun to read because the real ones are perfect and we fans love them alot.

Ps: I was planning to post a AU fiction before this post. Now plan cancelled. 😆

I like the characters and do try to read as many one shots as possible. 👍🏼

Could there be an index of alternative universe stories. This would be something, members can read to when the story has a slower period in the show story or to avoid sunny and keeti scenes. 😆

True. But even with AU, I can feel its easy read if these traits r maintained. I have read many here from AU and found them engrossing but writing with traits of other characters and changing name to RaghVi doesn't do justice to either characters.

I would suggest u to write that AU but just maintain basic nature of characters in ur story. It will come out that much better.

And regarding FFs... I have written few here and I think u will find them easy read as I myself have read them multiple times. Just a thought.

Great for u. Just not my cup of tea.

For AU thread... I think AU can be added as prefix in story threads. If writers inform or writers can add that in their titles.

Second that! It is not about a story being well-written - but how much it strays off from the core characteristics. That is a good shout-out, to all those who take their valuable time to pen something for us. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

On your AU, read others asking you to start too. You should write. Raghav and Pallavi, as who they are, placed in different setups, will certainly work. No second thoughts. And AU adds a freshness to the whole thing!

If your drabbles are anything to go by, your AUs will hold fort too.

I sail this boat.

There is a lot to explore with these two characters and by staying true to their nature, lot of stories can be had and read and loved - am sure the wonderful writers on this forum will ace it too!

For instance, there are scenes that jump quick. Or a transition had in fast-forward. Or cut-short. Or handled one-way when it could have achieved that end-point via different routes. It would be lovely to tread these gaps and fill in the blanks with what could have happened.

Not to say, it is not happening already. But, will be wonderful to see more. It is just the greed to have more of and on these two, I guess.

You are right to certain extent. Actually it depends a lot on what a reader wants to read. A good story in that case character name is just for the name. Or if the reader wants to read specifically on the couple, then the characterization matters.

As a writer, I feel there are two ways to write a story. One, you take the couple and then weave the story. Second, take the story and then adjust it according to the couple.

As a writer, my two stories, Two truths and a lie, and Marital bliss, are based on the first case, it can't be written on other couple. But my third story, Good news, is based on the second type, its quite general in theme, weaved around RaghVi
