I haven't seen anyone doing it, at least not in my family. Maybe it is a common practice other places. I personally don't like it, especially if you can afford to buy another gift. But each to his own.

@red: I think it's more common than we think. I've seen it happen in many families - were they rmmbr who gifted what and then mix and match and give those gifts out to others for attending the wedding/when having a baby etc.

Yeah it pretty common especially in functions of extended family . Like in this case, Virat forgot and did not think like and you dont have time and have something good that you know wont use and will keep it stuffed in almirah, people gift it away. i have heard in US as well a lot of people pass of the Christmas gifts .

@bold- Didi don't deserve any gift at all. I would have loved if both Virat & Sai decided to skip the function and go on a date instead. That would have been solid beizzati. 😆😆 Yahan toh she got a reason to start a drama. What a waste of time.

Although I didn't understand the point of Didi's bhook hartal. What is she going to achieve by it? She is simply wasting her parents' food and Sai is not going to lose anything if Didi remains hungry. What a stupid reaction.
