Love Aaj Kal (2009)

A confused story of two confused characters, I think the movie works because of the music and the locales and the presentation. I watched it recently and was like wtf is going on. It's aged badly.

Did anyone else like this movie when it came out but now feel it was a waste of time?

The only good part was the scenes of young Saif in flashback. That seemed more authentic, somehow.

It was a total waste of time when it released...

Opposite for me. When I first watched it, I was like what did I just watch.....😵

I decided to give it a second watch one day because I couldn't remember what happens in the movie and I found it enjoyable.

garbage product, garbage acting

Only Rishi Kapoor's parts were interesting.

I hated the climax where Deepika doesn't know whom she wants in her life and also marries some other person, then they show self-realisation and goes back to Saif.

Only music saved the show.

I liked Love Aaj Kal of 2020. Kartik was good but Sara was little OTT. I felt that scene when Sara sleeps on top of Kartik in the end. They were made for each other. Criticise me but this 2020 version stays in my heart. I felt bad the movie didn't work. Maybe Randeep Hooda's character was shown in a bad light.

Imtiaz Ali and his confused couples

Yeah, the characters are irritating and do irrational stuff. But I kind of loved the way the screenplay intersperses the old story with the new one. The song Yeh Dooriyan that comes at the beginning and end of the film has a cathartic quality too it, in the way it is filmed.
