Unpopular opinion but I actually didn't like the jhadoo thing.
I mean, we saw Raghav Rao with his aura and class, and this just seemed too crude for my liking (similar to the washing feet scene). I know they want it to be funny but it went overboard, especially with the servants watching. Do they really expect us to believe that Raghav would be like this in front of his wife? Sure, she might want to beat him, but if they had to do it then the whole sequence could have been executed much better, with a bit more class. As a standalone it was comic and the acting was fine but when you look at the big picture it felt out of place like the choking scene did.
I completely agree. We spoke about this before also, but this show makes some really crude missteps sometimes. We were in sitcom land today. Also, putting the humor of Milind-Raghav bonding aside, I never want to see Pallavi in the same light as Sulochana when it comes to being a wife, and today's scene almost identically mirrored one of theirs.
But honestly, I was prepared for much worse with the broom and gave myself lots of pep talks to not overthink it, so I was able to really enjoy and laugh out loud today. I'm also sympathetic to their need to put in some absolute comedy after the last few days to keep more casual audiences from dropping off. It reminded me of that scene when Raghav was combing Pallavi's hair after chicken pox. It wasn't in character for those two to be flirting and blushing and talking like that in that stage of the story, but Shivangi had been absent for a bit, and they needed to squeeze in a RaghVi moment.
Even if they stuck to the jhaadu sequence, I feel a couple of edits could have made it a lot more palatable. The staff was absolutely unnecessary. I liked them circling Jaya, with Raghav hiding behind her and her egging Pallavi on, but I didn't like the chase around the house. Would have been okay if the jhaadu was just picked up as a threat she was waving around but not using for actual hitting, have her back him away into a more private space while yelling at him, and have the collar wala scene without audience.
