We have suhaagraat scenes but do we ever really see them doing it during consummation, unlike non-desi/Western movies? Most of it is shadow play, close shots of neck/cheek/forehead/eye kisses and mild foreplay if they're being bold😆 or straight-up an after morning shot of them lying under the covers to imply they sealed the deal. A lot of ITV intimacy is just us using our vivid imaginations😆 With kisses though, they actually have to do it if they want to show it. Unlike pretend-foreplay/pretend-sex (that actors do), there is no way to pretend-kiss without making it look super fake.

I mean ofcourse they can't show the actual consummation scene 🤣 and I don't expect ITV to go the western way to show full blown scenes. The audience here is very different.

What I mean is we have those scenes on ITV, something like a long shower mein romance where the guy would be shirtless aur heroine would be taking long breaths on every touch, he'll kiss on her neck and shoulder. Those are some really long scenes. And they easily take some 3-4 minutes of screen time (minimum).

Or we can take examples of those scenes, jaha heroine ka pallu falls and hawaein chalne lagti hai heroine wapas lambi saasein leti hai. These are also such long scenes and so awkward to watch.

But a simple lip kiss can be done within few seconds. Probably a 5 seconds kiss.

I am definitely more awkward watching those really long shower romance/pallu scenes in comparison to a short n sweet kiss.

I think Akshita is awkward with kisses as she’s young

Might be

But even if she wasn't there weren't many chances that we would get it on ITV

I’m actually fine with this kind of romance.. it makes desi romance unique. The problem with western shows is they don’t get the beauty of build ups, eye stares etc.

I like the initial build up too: the idea of sharmana and that anticipation, the longingness from afar, the push and pull between heart and mind--it all gives meaning to the relationship. I don't mind it either way as long as it's relevant and is handled nicely although I find it funny when they make a huge deal out of things like hands touching, brushing of fingers or accidental physical contact in any form because I don't think most people irl behave that way 😆

🤣🤣

IK kabhi kabhi thoda zada romanticize hojata hai ITV

But I actually really like how ITV does it's romantic scenes, I love them somehow.

Although they are pretty far from reality 🤣 kyunki itna bhi koi nai sharmata real life mein jitna ITV mein heroine sharmati hai ya how they always have the accidental falls and everything

There is something endearing about the way these scenes are shot. They are pleasant to the eye.

In regards to this show specifically, I think it's totally okay if they don't show too much intimacy or kiss due to Akshita being uncomfortable. She's actually very young, and I remember many years back another actor who was in a star plus show had shared how difficult it was for her to act in romantic scenes because she was like 16 or something. From what I've gathered, even seasoned actors (both in desi and in non-desi industry) aren't exactly fond of doing such scenes because while we see it as a seamless scene, it's very unnatural and embarrassing to do in a room full of people who are giving you directions every second and watching you do something that's supposed to be between two people only. Because of Akshita, Ishqaan ke liye I can keep a leash on my fantasies and expectations 😆
