When the movie GF released, I asked my Naana how’s it possible. He didn’t get into details as I wasn’t even aware of s** at the time, he just told me very coolly ki happens, shaadi bhi kar lete hain.

On a serious note, this I guess was the case with the majority of the population from the old times.

Kissing is actually a newer concept in India with most old couples not have ever kissed though they might be the parents of 5 kids.

The thing is it is not that ITV does not show any intimacy. They do show intimate scenes on ITV. Suhagraat scenes and everything but not a kiss. Kiss se toh kaafi zada awkward cheezein dikhate hai ITV waale.

I think the desi idea is that kiss karna is a super-intimate gesture so it's also trickier to pull it off nicely on-screen, because actors ko woh real mein karna padega. We have suhaagraat scenes but do we ever really see them doing it during consummation, unlike non-desi/Western movies? Most of it is shadow play, close shots of neck/cheek/forehead/eye kisses and mild foreplay if they're being bold😆 or straight-up an after morning shot of them lying under the covers to imply they sealed the deal. A lot of ITV intimacy is just us using our vivid imaginations😆 With kisses though, they actually have to do it if they want to show it. Unlike pretend-foreplay/pretend-sex (that actors do), there is no way to pretend-kiss without making it look super fake.

I’m actually fine with this kind of romance.. it makes desi romance unique. The problem with western shows is they don’t get the beauty of build ups, eye stares etc.
