I have a friend who is in such a toxic relationship.

Happy phases with burst of abuse and cycle continues.

She is educated, earns 6 figure salary in US and still sticking to him coz the good times are really good and bad times last only 1-2 days.

Even advice from good friends makes no difference to her. She has to either learn to adjust and live like that forever or understand its not worth it and move away from such relationship.

I think some of us have been able to connect with Virat, not all. Others have felt like this about him for a long time now. Many stopped liking him after they got married and he started to behave like a typical son of a joint toxic family. I will continue to try to understand him or his actions as always but have lost hopes in him that he would ever stand up for his wife. It's been difficult to relate to Virat a lot of times - I just try to understand him. His conflict-phobia, patriarchal mindset, tendency to be manipulated, his extreme weakness with family was analysed and explained by a lot of us in the forum - using his upbringing, his circumstances etc. It gave him layers.

They kept lowering his standard ( I don't know if he was supposed to be that way or a case of bad writing or a way to stretch a plot etc) and we kept compromising - accepting it as a flaw. In return all one asks us to retain his basic goodness, be consistent and show some progression. Is that too much to ask?

@bold: agreed, there's only one show running currently where the ML is actually a softie and respects his wife no matter what but I don't watch it it's story is bs and more illogical than Ghum and with more whitewash of villain, same PH
