Today i could not help but compare Mithi and Malini.

Highly educated Malini derives her identity through a man - either her father or her husband. That's why its shocking injustice to her that Imlie did not get either her husbands name or her fathers name. While uneducated Mithi believes in her own identity. Malini's thought process reflected in her speech; When Mithi said Imlie is her daughter and she doesnt need anyone else's name, Malini immediately questions her. What about your identity? What about your haq? Why didnt you demand for it?

Mithi impressed me with her dialogue today "Mangne se bheek milat hai; haq nahi. Aur hum bhikaaran nahi". The pride in her voice, the self respect had my heart. Even NN looked mildly impressed. This show continues to be a case study in what it means to be truly independent. On one hand we have malini, a highly educated, "independent" woman who literally begged aditya for her "haq", chose to stick to him despite knowing he did not care for her; and her high society mom who knew that Dev cheated on her but she still continued her marriage because of "Malini". On other hand we have Mithi, a poor, uneducated woman in village who knew Dev ran away after spending a night with her because he was not ready to take responsibility for her or her unborn child. Though she knew she could have demanded her right, if not wifely right, at-least financial assistance to raise Imlie; she choose not to. She respected his choice to leave her and more than that she respected herself enough to raise Imlie alone.

I can only imagine the hell she must have faced. The shame, the mockery. Today, even NN took a moral high ground because according to her, she is just a thief but Mithi is worse than her. Mithi never let her experience with Dev or any of the taunts or shame embitter her. She continues to show only love and respect to people around her, no matter how undeserving they are. If this is not strength, i dont know what is.

Her sweet nature shines through all these clouds of shame that try to engulf her. She brought up imlie as a symbol of her love for a man, not as proof of shame everyone made her to be. Mithi gave Imlie the one thing she herself lacked - education - So that imlie can make informed choices in life; Knows her rights and has strength to fight for them.

It is mithi's strength that shines in imlie, her love for others reflects in imlie's selfless actions and her pride and self respect when Imlie chose to walk away from Aditya because he insulted her beliefs.

It's a shame that malini does not have capability to self reflect. If she did, her conversation with Mithi would have been a highly educational experience to her. She will continue to believe that she is doing imlie a great favor by making D accept that Imlie is his daughter. Imlie never needed a man's name before she wont need in future. Thats the beauty of her character.

I think that was what has always attracted us to the story. This disparity that just because someone is from the city does not make them better than someone from the village. Like the slogan for the show was "Gaon ke hai par Gawar nahi", and I feel even now the show truly embodies this in Imlie's and Mithi's character. While Malini is supposed to be this well-educated, cultured, soft-spoken and sanskari girl, who seemed perfect for Aditya because she tolerated him for 7 years, we have Imlie who gave back to Adi from the day she met him till today. I mean even in her didi jaap, she is very clear in her views and is more concerned of making everything right rather than clinging on to anyone for support or validation. I mean here Adi wants to give her the deserved "haq" and the familiy she wants, yet she would rather get it in the correct way after closing Malini's chapter. While on the other hand, Malini is so damaged from her upbringing, that she has defined her existence on the men connected with her, be it her father or Adi. She is willing to give up her self respect & independence and go back to Adi if he is willing to leave Imlie. On the other hand, Imlie is not willing to compromise on her ideals and is fine to give up everything even Aditya and the T family, if it means that keeping him will do injustice to someone else. While Malini was given all the trappings of a good life, being brought up in a rich household and pampered by her parents and grandmother, she had never need to face adversity in any way, except dealing with the toxic relationship her parents shared, where her mother held on to her father even if they were not compatible or even suited for each other. That was where she learnt that marriage was like a boja that needed to be dhooad, no matter if you are compatible with your partner or not. On the other hand, Imlie had to fight for everything - education, dreams even the basic right to live with dignity. Yet she saw that even with the entire world saying things to her mother, Meethi chose to give birth and take care of Imlie on her own, even though she had the option of marrying Satyakam to "save her name". Her mother married Satyakam only when she was ready and had received closure from DC. That showed Imlie that without closing the past, one cannot move on in the present, which is why she is insisting to close the Malini chapter with a happy resolution before she can move on with Aditya.

If I compare Anu & Meethi, again as they say, money does not buy happiness. It also does not teach someone to be human. While Anu has always been bitter and lashed out at the world because of that bitterness, Meethi has always faced the world with her head held high. Meethi has always been warn and friendly to everyone and never punished people from the city due her experience with DC, while Anu has always behaved in the opposite manner. Like in today's episode, Malini says that while Meethi has taken me in like her daughter in just 1 day, my mother has never even tried to create a cordial relationship with Imlie due to her prejedices. This shows the stark difference that upbringing and basic human traits that differ when people put in similar situations will react and behave differently to it.

I am unable to quote you NM; Please find my reply in blue:

NM: Awww i felt for him too but BK was being protective of his jhalli and Sundar doesn't mind as far as his dost is khush woh sunlega

Yes both BK and sundar are very protective of imlie. I think sundar has also started loving t-fam; toh sirf imlie ke liye nai, he will not mind BK scolding him as BK is his apne ghar ke bade

NM: I got slightly angry at adi too for letting the loser meet Imlie but then i guess he genuinely wanted to give the loser a chance to say sorry for the shit they did to poor girl .. which is why he gave them privacy too and i also find it damn weird they let koi bhi aadmi just walk in onto a sleeping girl in her canopy.. It is Highly awkward and uncomfortable to watch.. Adi ki baat alag hai but the way the stupid DC walked in and went almost on her head it was liek Maintain social distancing idc what the rishta is it is unknown and even then it is just way too much for comfort level..

As far as DC is concerned Imlie is as clueless as Aditya is generally😆. Except questioning him generally aap mere liye itna kuch kyu karte hai, she does not seem to care. I think she has written it off as malini's papa ka acchai. Baki even i found it weird that they actually woke up a sick sleeping girl just so he gets to talk.

NM: This is the one thing where i want them to follow the original as i heard it didn't came easy Imlie need to not gove a Farak to him.. Marta hai toh mare jo boya hai woh kaate..

God i hope they religiously follow this in imlie. I dont want Dev's redemption to be easy. Let the loser suffer🤢

I want to call today’s episode as “Various Facets of Truth”

Aparna - finally her truth surfaced, though she tried to wear a mask hiding her real nature her truth surfaced. She cannot hide the love and care for Imlie and her basic humanity.

Imlie - her nature being selfless surfaced once again to all the T family.

Imlie & Dev - The biggest shock for Dev is to hear Imlie’s truth that is to hear from his own daughter that her dad is not him but someone else. This is the most shameful shock a father could receive.

Mithi - Mithi never revealed her truth that is the betrayal she received even to herself or name of the person who betrayed but finally accepted and revealed the name of the person who betrayed her to someone else.

Mithi & Malini - Malini had been desperately waiting to unveil the relationship between Dev and Imlie and finally she got to hear about her dad’s deeds that is Mithi’s truth

Adi & Imlie - finally one eye lock showed their admiration for each other. Adi’s acceptance, admiration & love for Imlie portrayed in one single moment.

Finally, one rocking & truthful episode

Adi being like Calm down to just rolling his eyes is a mood 😆 then coming to realization ke nah main nahi kar sakta discpline toh what choice i have then to give in. 🤣😆🤣 Again this is in essence them... the basic traits were maintained hence it was enjoyable'

Just noticed...not sure if this is intentional...look at the sync of Adi-Imlie dance in the song...first 'jhuk jhuk chali jaati hai rail' synching to Imlie running around Adi...'Tota Maina ka mel' to Adi Imlie doing the dance step continuing with 😊'pyar ki pakodi meethi baaton ki bhel' to their dance...and finally to 'dubiya mein yaaron hai bada hi golmaal' synching to Adi doing thumkas with Imlie...😆..sorry found it funny..intentional or not...so thought to share

Thanks for the thread, caps, gifs, Fary :)

Managed to catch up on the episode just now. The family scenes were quite sweet, no doubt and the wacky dance was fun too.

I couldn't however help but get an overall very disjointed feel in the story.....there was lack of a sense of flow overall IMO. I'm feeling this the most in the desperation to make the whole two sisters and Imlie ka baap kaun angle such a "grand drama".....lol despite all the back and forth b/w the Mithi/Malini scene and the Imlie/Dev scenes, I was literally just left feeling mega bored throughout.

Firstly this entire plot is built on a very cliched/flimsy premise....it's not as huge a secret as the Adi-Imlie marriage one that actually can drive high drama in the narrative. On top of that, the characters involved all just rotating in their own delusions makes it even more underwhelming......it's now become a case of people talking past each other rather than building any sense of coherent narrative. Everything is just a gimmick to get from one scene to the next.....the biggest example being AC smashes Imlie's head with a tubelight, Imlie lies about this for so long, people just do token apologies for it and today Imlie was like oh it was all great cuz I got to get my parents married.....lol wow......and now everyone will go back to acting normal with a person who literally physically assaulted Imlie.....lol

The Imlie-Sundar scenes also feel very token these days....lol like the makers are like baaki sab toh shallow/depressive characters ban hi gaye hain, inka random comedy daal do episode mein toh all good.....lol without really building the relationships around much of a narrative.

Finally, coming to the weakest two links in the chain when it comes to hyping this lame do behenein and Imlie ka baap kaun drama......Malini and Dev.....damn, such TERRIBLY shallow acting from Malini especially, I can't even *shakes head*.....if they want this angle to be the base of all drama in this story, they need to write/enact it better.....cuz right now, it's all feeling very superficial and forced. People are mouthing lines as very obvious plot gimmicks rather than really feeling them as characters.

I'm overall just feeling a sense of boredom setting in....like how much can you even talk about characters that are this shallow and aimless? Adi-Imlie wise toh pata hi hai they will get their token scenes sprinkled in between all this forced melodrama.....but they feel like very static characters now just reacting to the other characters who are mostly shallow/vapid.

Good post. I liked the family bit too. Their dance was adorable especially BK and PT. They are so cute dancing together happily.

But overall I’m getting bored of the show. The last few episodes have all been just stand-alone scenes patched together. I’m not even excited for whatever is coming next toh not sure what they can do to bring the enthusiasm to watch back.

Losers ka track dekhne mein koi bhi interest nahin ab mujhe. Hoping the next week or so gets done soon.

@bold: Ditto....I just finished watching this epi and that is literally how it felt....stand-alone scenes patched in together. Even the "parallels" they were trying to show vis a vis Mithi/Malini on one side and Dev-Imlie on the other were totally falling flat.

This is what happens when shows get into the gimmicky zone putting in things based on random fan requests rather than weaving them into the narrative....fans ne romance maanga, toh imaginary dance sequence.....fans ne happy family moments maange, toh happy family dance.....they are just doing token scene insertions rather than managing the flow of the story dhang se.

The reason I personally connected to Imlie was cuz the original bonds felt organic....Adi-Imlie, Imlie with the T family......now it's like the makers put in scenes for token gestures rather than building a narrative.....well atleast a narrative we could care for. I personally will never be interested in Loservedis drama or two sisters/Imlie ka baap drama cuz the acting of certain people is getting exponentially worse by the day.

I just read your previous post! +1 on everything.

Oh the whole PD reveal was such a bomb. I mean, we all knew it would be but what were those reactions really. Mithi was genuine as always but how much can one person pull it along when the other is such a wall clinging deadweight.

Glad I’m not the only one who thinks there’s a problem with the flow. Aditya and Imlie feel the most token amidst all this now. They will get their scenes but of what use is it going to be if they are not all weaved in together like how they should be. It is as though someone else directed the first 115 episodes.
