A MOMENT OF LOVE

Raavi signed, she was frustrated, angry and confused. From the first day she had met Shiva he had fought with her, teased her even downright threatened her but he hadn’t ever ignored her. But now it had been two weeks since he had said a single word to her, forget fighting, he barely looked at her. And it was deliberate even a fool could see that

. Mr. 11 “baje se pelhe nahi uthunga” actually woke up early to avoid overlapping with her visit, would have people surrounding him every time she went to the store, would change his way as soon as he saw her, he wouldn’t even acknowledge her taunts and this weird behavior was driving her crazy.

She never realized how much time she spend with Shiva until it stopped, she never realized how many hours of her day she simply passed by bantering and fighting with Shiva. She had completed all her college assignments due for the entire month, revised her syllabus, learned two new dishes, watched 5 movies and even helped Dev plan Rishita’s birthday and yet she had hours to think about Shiva ignoring her.

She was upset and made up her mind to ignore him too, it’s not like she was dying to talk to him or something. If she wasn’t worth his time he wasn’t worth her. She had enough work and more than enough friends, she didn’t need him, she didn’t With her resolve strong she went to sleep.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Shiva couldn’t sleep, he hadn’t gotten a decent night’s sleep in days and there was only one person to blame for it, Raavi that chipkali the bane of his existence.The moment he had met her all those years ago, he had known even then that she was trouble, had tried his hardest to keep her away from his house, his shop, his family most of all himself and he had failed, failed miserably she walked into his house like she belonged there, walked into his shop like she owned it, loved his family like hers.

She managed to embed herself deep in his life, in his world so deep that there wasn’t a way to uproot her without destroying everything first.Her persistence to stick around his life had been so strong that despite all his efforts she had managed to achieve it, this had given him the illusion that she would forever be here, forever be his.

But the past month had opened his eyes, for the first time in years Raavi had given another guy more importance than him and to add insult to the injury it was none other than his own brother Dev.

Raavi had spent the past month sneaking around with dev. They would disappear for hours together, with whisper quietly and spend more time together than they had in years, Raavi was still discreet but Dev he would blush and stutter every time someone interrupted their conversation or his phonE rang with the contact name R. It was obvious what was going on.

He should have seen this coming obviously she would feel something for dev. Dev who was charming and polite the one who had always tried to save her, the one who wiped her tears when she cried because of him. This had also made him realize the depth of his own feeling for her, made him realize that he loved her, and so he chose to let her go. Now it had been two weeks since he was avoiding her because he wouldn’t be selfish enough to become a barrier in their happiness but he wasn’t selfless enough to pretend that everything was fine, wasn’t strong enough to act like thinking of her with someone else didn’t made his heart ache.

His efforts did seem to achieve their desired results as now even Raavi was avoiding him. It hurt like hell but anything for her.

=======================================Dev loved Raavi, loved her like the sister he never had, she was chirpy kind and loving. They had known each other for what felt like forever but it was in the recent weeks that they had come so close, Raavi had accidently answered his phone when Rishita had called once and since then she was more involved in his love life than he himself was!!

She had mercilessly teased him for hours before hugging him and telling him how happy she was for him, he had been scared that how his family would react about his relationship with Janardhan seth's daughter and that had forced him to hide his love but now that Raavi knew it was amazing to have someone he could confide him. Someone he could share his frustrations and fears with.

Raavi had been that perfect person always listening to him patiently, never judging him or his relationship and giving sound advice. She also covered up for him numerous time when he was on a date’s with Rishita. He was touched how much time she spent on helping him plan Rishita’s birthday.

So Dev loved her like a sister but it would be even better if could love her like a Bhabi. Of course it seemed like a far fetched dream with the pace she and Shiva were going, the entire Somnath was used to their fights but no one was used to their weird angry silence. As soon as they were in each other’s orbit the air seemed to crackle with frustrated energy and Dev was scared that these two idiots wouldn’t see what fiery chemistry they had before it was too late .=======================================The next day Raavi was at the Pandya house making a new dish she had learned in the kitchen while dhara di had gone to market for some time. Shiva wasn’t at home as usual but his thoughts never left her. She was so absorbed in her thoughts that she didn’t notice Shiva entering the kitchen she moved and banged into him, he held her shoulders to balance her and they looked in each other’s eyes. His eyes were red rimmed and she was sure hadn’t slept for days. The cookers whistle broke the moment.

“Sorry dekha nahi tujhe”

“Tujhe Dev se fursat milegi toh kissi ko dekhegi na”

“Kya matlab hain tera??” Raavi questioned genuinely confused.

“Wahi jo tujhe lag raha hain, yaha par koi na andha hain nah bewkoof, sabko sab kuch dikh raha hain isse pelhe log baate banana shuru kare ghar par sabko bata do apne bare main tum dono, mujhe nahi lagta kissi ko tumhari shaadi se takleef hogi.” he said trying to act unaffected while he felt his heart shattering.

“Hum dono ke bare main, Shiva tere dimaag kharab ho gaya hain kya, shaadi, vo bhi meri aur Dev ke, kaise baate kar raha hain bhang toh nahi pe rakhi?”

“Zyada over acting mat kar mahine bhar se uski bike par Somnath ke sair kar rahi hain”

“Toh uska tune yeh matlab nikal liye, use zyada toh tere bike par baithi hun tu karega mujse shaadi?”

His wished it really could have been that simple, that it could have been true. He didn’t understand why Raavi was so determined to deny her feelings.

“Mujse toh jhoot bol mat mujhe pata hain ke tu aur dev ek doosre se pyaar karte ho” as soon as he finished his sentence he felt her hand making contact with his cheek, and damm that slap hurt almost as bad as Dharra bhabi’s.

He had never seen her looking so angry.

“Shiva agar main Dev se pyaar karti hoti toh uski girlfriend ke birthday party kyu plan karne main ghanto lagati, agar usse pyaar karti toh har time tere bare main kyu soochti rethi, kyu tere saath time spent karne ke bahane dhoondti aur kyu tere mujhe ignore karne par raat bhar roti. Agar tuje ab bhi lagta hain ke main Dev se pyaar karti hun toh tujse zyada duffer pure Somnath mein nahi hain, gadhere.”

Shiva couldn’t believe his ears even her shouting felt like music to him, he was sure he wouldn’t ever ask god for anything in his life because Somnath had given him his greatest wish, a wish so out of reach that he had never dared to even pray for it and yet he had it now.

Raavi looked like she would burst in tears any second now but before it could happen he engulfed her in his arms while she sobbed as he petted her hair.

“Sorry, pata nahi kya-kya sooch liye maine, main saach main gadha he hun par tub hi toh duffer hain aa kar bata nahi sakti thi mujse”

“Accha kab batati, jab tu mujhe ignore kr raha tha” she asked sarcastically.

“Toh tu konsa mujse baat karne aa gayi”

“Shiva maine tujhe abhi bataya ke main tujse pyaar karti hun aur tujhe mujse ladna hain”

“Accha nahi ladte ,aur yeh dev ko ladki kaise mil gayi?”

“Jaise tujhe main mil gayi, ab baaki baate usse he pooch yeh story batana ka haq uska hain mera nahi.”

“Theek hain” he signed. Raavi was in the process of moving away when he stopped her.

“Ab tu kaha ja rahi hain”

“Ghar aur kaha jaungi aur sun main abhi bhi tujse upset hun tab he maanungi jab tu aadhi raat ko mere kamre ke khidki par aake mujhe I love you bolega, bye” she swiftly kissed his cheek and went away almost bouncing.

It took him 3 minutes to get out of the collective shock of both her demand and the kiss. Shiva slammed his hand on his head, god help him.

“Yeh kis Bollywood ke deewani se pyaar kar liye, pata nahi kya kya karna padega iss chipkali ke liye.” =======================================How was it???
