Maybe because this is the first time both are awake/sober and they are aware of each other's proximity. Plus being wet adds an x-factor, always.

I thought I was the only one who found it quite irritating. I anyway don’t like the song and then for the D’s....They’re toxic esp her baba who just wanted her to be sanskaar ki murat and his so called pride. Wake up Sanki uncle, she’s a human being. Stop putting women on a pedestal in the pretext of respect because it crushes life. Imagine pallu is away for 2-3 weeks and they forget to pay their taxes. How disjointed is this so called “parivaar”? I’m glad she’s out of that fake place. Aai is nice but she doesn’t have a say, typical of orthodox Indian families.

Personally, I find it really annoying when they play Ae dil laya hai bahaar whenever they show her remembering the D-fam so fondly. It's a smart move by the CVs to show that she has rose-tinted glasses on when she thinks of them, all that this song represents, however the reality is quite different.
