I disagree he knows very well and Which was the base of his not being able to tell for so long az he didn't wanted to hurt malini.. he knew it would and he knows it does but they are in a mess and he had to let it out he kept saying he doesn't want to hurt her further which is why it was necessary for them to clear their stance and he did it.. and yes he did promise he will forever be a friend
