Which is really ironic though because Gayatri mentioned in the earlier episodes that the Sabs specifically bring middle class girls as their bahus because they are easier to control/have more to lose if the Sabs throw them out. So the whole "middle class" and "aukaat" comments are weird given that fact. Not because they aren't classist, they definitely are. But they seek out girls who are poorer so they can keep them in line. So their problem is probably more with the fact that despite being middle class, she has the guts to give it back to them.
Yes I agree. They have a problem her being independent and taking stand for herself and stand on the ground which is correct. One more thing that gonagaist her is she is related to Astha. They absolutely do not want that even shaan who thinks she would be another Astha. He neither knows his son nor Anokhi.
I do not think her being middle class is an issue. Devi saying it just to have one more reason to reject it. If she had been like Gaytri or pre shaaki Kanchan and had noting to do with Astha, Devi would have been the first one to bring her in their family.
