It's then forgotten until it's needed for the plot to move elsewhere in the show. Which is why it's better to watch Indian shows with a pinch of salt. Otherwise you'll end up scratching your head for sheer stupidity shown in them.

+1. Don't expect sheer accuracy from historical/mythology-based shows.

So true. But when they use stereotypical ideas to portray “social evils” blaming someone or a group of people it kind of spreads poison in peoples minds. Some half baked idea of a person or persons cvs ruins peoples minds like when they show Khanderao trying to cut Ahilyas hair because she wants to be like a man. Public head shaving of Renu the child widow . Locking up people inside a room like they did Renu keeping people drugged up and locked up (in another serial) all spread poison in peoples minds.

In India, this has been going on since the advent of the entertainment industry. Blame the political bodies in the country that encouraged this blatant dehumanization of the Hindus and the Brahmins. Movies brazenly show how Krishna is limited to only raas lila and Shree Ram is usually talked about only when Sita's Agnipariksha is mentioned. Even another show on Sony TV shows brahmins as evils repeatedly. I mean, sure, caste system existed and it was not made up, but there wasn't a SINGLE good person there? Why does the hero of the show have to become the ultimate saviour while all the knowledgeable people are evil?

I don't know if you've come across this particular Twitter handle called Gems of Bollywood, but if you haven't, do check out their content. They've been exposing this propaganda for months and have been able to collect 500+ movies and shows blaming only one sect for social evils in the Indian society.

Actually after watching these last few episodes, I am convinced that Ahiliya is a troublemaker since she reached the Palace. All she thinks is of herself and no concern for what others think of her or of having created so much ruckus in what was a peaceful household. She is spoilt and needs to be matured like Renu who is probably the most matured of all the women.

Ahiliya needs to be sent back to her home in Chondi to return after she has grown up as at this rate no one likes her, she has not worked on settling down in her new home or understand the rules of the family - instead she is demanding for things to her way from the first day,

A very annoying character seriously....I don’t know what characters are to be butchered by the cvs. Gautama is right in her own way as she finds Ahiliya’s demands not acceptable.

. May be this is “ higher” education that she wants and Gautama refused. LOL or May be to learn Char Vedas and Kuch granth that the pandit brought all bundled up so that they can put the blame on the Brahmins for that too. And the “cutesy” bundle did puja to the books with her “tender” hands but yet wicked Gautama and “wickeder” Khanderao do not want to let her learn. Frankly she is irritating as hell and quite cunning too. Gautama is beyond repair. But Ahilya is no less annoying.
