The thing was vansh didn't clear out whether that plan was fake and all after coming. They just went with the flow. In fact if we recall the first scenes of ott, snake family was discussing why vansh fake death and is coming back. I don't think they even know who actually put up the fire either. By the time riansh come home, ishani and all must have filled Dadi's ears against riansh and as most of us thought the exact thought of riddhima has the capability of taking vansh away from their protection department was what scared dadi and is now against them and mainly riddhima.

Shashu bai did gave a very vague answer but I think in all this is the reason for Dadi's change.

In all vansh is just a protector for dadi all this time all of those showering love was just for her advantage for her legacy and business to go without interruptions.

Instead of some silly justifications writer should focus more on better writing.

She is the worst character right now imo. Total failure as head of the family. Koi unki nhi manta except Vansh, aur usko hi woh aise karti hai. I would have tolerated it if she had been smartly playing everyone for her business and empire, par woh to kitchen politics karti hain. She should have been neutral. Her business and empire are not the most important things for her. Varna itni akal nhi hoti ki Aryan kis layak hai woh samajh le? Uske saath mil kar saazish kyun kar rhi hai. Apni family ke logon ko control nhi kar paati, and blames Riddhima for her failures. Idiot!
