There are dozens of shows on Indian TV. But when discussing about iconic scenes, the following three scenes are unforgettable, and hence iconic. Not only do these scenes have marvelous storyline and beautiful camerawork, they also highlight why a TV bahu should be nothing less than ideal.
1. Simar and Patali Devi's Tandav Dance
(Sasural Simar Ka, Episode 1372, 21 Dec 2015)
After Simar transformed from an ideal bahu to an ideal bhakt of Patali Devi, she took on the drawing room of the mansion and turned it into an ideal dance floor. Following the footsteps of Patali, Simar grooved with the exact same steps as her goddess. With brilliant choreography, beautiful lighting, powerful background music and effective storyline, the makers couldn't have made another scene that would look as perfect as this one.
2. Mataji Slaps Pari
(Sasural Simar Ka, Episode 2007, 14 Dec 2017)
Unless one watched the scene, it was difficult to believe how much fatal a slap can be: fatal to life, fatal to self-esteem. When Pari refused to do aarti and shouted on Mataji's ideal bahu, Mataji decided to take the matter into her own hands (or her palm š³) and direct Pari back into the trajectory of an ideal bahu.
The resounding slap in the scene, and the resulting trajectory, must have been difficult to direct, yet it was done so beautifully. š Pari reeling in the effects of the slap reminds one of the balls rolling in the bowling alleys. The creative use of curtain remains one of the most memorable aspects of the scene.
3. Gopi washes Ahem's Laptop

Living in the corona times, who understands better about the need of meticulous cleaning than us? Clearly Gopi was way ahead of her times, not only foreseeing the need to clean a laptop with soap and water, but also trusting in the concept of waterproof laptops. Hats off to the writers, this scene still remains etched in the memory of its viewers. What if Gopi was not literate, her imagination skills were far-fetched, and she always strived to be an ideal bahu and an ideal wife.
With fantastic direction, storyline and script, the makers couldn't have created another bahu as ideal as Gopi bahu.
