What do u think abt shivangi ans Mohsin's acting these days - Page 2

If there's anything left on d show to look forward to, Mohsin is one saving grace. Kartik is a flawed character but Mohsin has really done a good job, be it for his comic timings, the emotional scenes or that angry man wid that grey shaded touch during Mumbai track. He tries to bring in a variety n subtlety. When he started, he wasn't much of a gud actor, but his graph has an actor has increased n is visible. Coming to this track, Kartik's pov or story has gradually been reduced n cvs haven't given him anything new. But whatever 2 or 3min scene he gets, he acts well. His chemistry is amazing wid kids. recent one being, Kartik akshu scenes. It just looked so pleasant n also kinda emoting his feelings without any words. And wid kairav, kartik- kairav scenes were gud to watch. sadly, they almost stopped showing that, somewhere in trying to force d bond of sirat-kairav. Was surprised that ITA didn't even give him award.

For shivangi, when she started, she was gud. Became redundant kinda after memory loss track I guess, she was a bit subtle in that atleast. The crying is just d same n loud now. Until naira's char wasn't glorified like a mahaan, it seemed good. After that, its just the same. The sherni or now the boxing adjective just looks ott n arrogant. I do give a credibility though when she started playing mother role, quite young. She was gud at d start of 5yr leap. But then, it just didn't connect. On contrast, Mohsin has really worked to get that father's role right. Also, with current kairav n Shivangi, just cudnt connect wid their bond, be it wid naira or now sirat. It looks too ott. The recent Mumbai track where kairav hates naira n at d closure, they show naira n kairav uniting. That scene was just so flat, just an example of how redundant her acting has become. Overall, she's gud, but I feel is now overrated.

At d same tym, both r hard working actors, n I give for that n have respect, but shivangi can try a bit different acting n subtlety. Also, I feel, that is to do with writing n direction too. Can't deny d fact that the show's writing has been going downhill interms of writing. So redundancy might just b a part of it. She kinda needs to uplift. Now her char is just like any other moulded character, nothing new nor it draws attention.

She was worst in that nd the memory loss part she was so silly, subtle toh dur dur tak nai thi and the worst was goa track since day 1, it's just that kairav was too cute and he was just an amazing actor it complimented her she looked like a sister more than mother , she had to show layers nd depth in that character but cudnt show..it was just too loud ott crying all the time, she is worst in emotional scenes.

The only time she was good was during the initial year nd after marriage few months. Uske baad she went downhill. Nd right now sirat dont know what is she doing...why so childish?

Mohsin, he's a good actor. The way he has progressed from when he started out on d show to now, is so commendable. Also, he got a chance to try out various shades of Kartik, which he definitely became good at. Like others said, this track hasn't really given him anything n even d show doesn't seem to hav anything left for kaira n d current storyline is very poorly written, which is kinda disappointing dat makers r just using d name. And, yes, his chemistry wid other chars is good apart frm naira as well..like dadi, Manish( though d char is just pathetic), kairav n now even akshu.. he brings in small nuances ... Definitely want to see him in some right projects outside d show, and he has potential, if gotten an opportunity. Hope he gets.

Shivangi, I feel, she's a decent actor, but she has the potential. But somewhere it is overshadowed by d popularity of the character I guess. Her char is just too repetitive, even she had opportunities to play a bit different. But either it just turns out to b too much crying or just kiddish antics which kinda has started looking lame. she was good when d show started even until Mumbai seperation track. Post 5yr leap, its just d same abla naari types, who goes on lecturing..n there's no difference in dialogue delivery as well. Just d same tone. I blame d writers as well though. Hope she tries out different things, n not get stuck into dis rut.

Anyway, both r young n hardworking, hope they do better n get better projects. Yrkkh has def given them a gud chance, specially Mohsin, his range has increased as an actor, wud want to see in something diff now.

A lot of the times I feel like the main reason why mohsin is far more natural at playing the parent role than shivi is because in real life mohsin is a few years older than shivi (although not by much) and mohsin imo in real life too comes across as more mature than shivi the way he talks and carries himself, shivi looks so young but also behaves the most kiddish in real life compared to the two of them (not that I think she is immature or childish, but she's still maturing and growing up because she is till quite young both in age and at heart). Don't know how to explain it, but simply put I feel their real life personalities has a lot to do with how convincingly they can carry off this parent role. Mohsin just seems so so good with children. Slightly off-topic but has there been any Mohsin the Mama content on social media since Zeba had a kid? 😆Only asking because there's just something so cute about men when they are in the company of kids and would love to see Mohsin content with his new nephew given how amazing he is with kids on screen.

Writers are at blame but then look at mohsin, even though writing has been pathetic he is doing it so well, he is playing a role atleast 8-9 years older, it depends on how u pull of.

Nd for shivangi she definitely got a big chance by playing a different role but cudnt pull off, I wonder if they had not given her so like new language nd all, then this boxing this which is so useless, doesn't add.just a simple charac wud still work. She cudnt handle so much of stuff nd now she is becoming more cringe...with those kiddish antics, if u perform well makers will write more good stuff for u,see in case of mohsin they do give his character layers, depth,they know he can pull it off. Actors hv a huge role in shaping up there character, they need to add to their characters.

I don't think it has anything to do with age. Hina was the same age when Akshara became a mother. Child Naksh was played by three different actors in a short while (infant, baby, & school going). She carried it well with all of them. In fact, Hina played Shivangi's mother at just 29! 🤣

Many TV & film actors convincingly play parents to those only a few years younger. Shefali Shah is five years younger than Akshay Kumar but played his mother in Waqt 🤣

Oh yes, Hina played mother to Rohan mehra who is just 2-3 years younger than her. But she did it with conviction. Though hina is not a very great actor but she did full justice to Akshara.

Even mohsin playing a father...he is almost playing 8-9 years older character to his age.

I remember Erica was played a mother at 23 as well in kuch rang pyaar ke aise bhi, she did it well, Reem sheikh is just 16-17 years she plays a mother, quite well. It depends on the actors how u play. If u are a good actor u can play any kinda role, even a grandfather or even a 10 year old.

Neither of them are great actors. But Mohsin is at least convincing in all the roles he play, be it a son, lover, husband or father. You don't cringe every time he does something different. Also he has good comic timing too. Shivangi, on the other hand looks like a complete failure as an actress these days. Sirat's role has completely exposed what a bad actress she is. Her dialogue delivery and acting irritates the hell out of me these days. As Naira, she was good initially and tolerable later. But now she is simply irritating. I want to smack my head somewhere every time she opens her mouth and delivers dialogue in that weird accent of hers. Even today, I wanted to laugh so badly seeing her reaction after Ranveer's accident. It was so so bad. I would say that Mohsin as improved a lot as an actor over the years but Shivangi has gone down completely. It looks like she don't even make an effort to improve unlike Mohsin.
