No.
In my opinion, love is becoming more nuanced and realistic. Bollywood movies portrayed an unrealistic and idealistic portrayal of romance. They mass-produced love stories and stuffed romances even in stories where it was unnecessary.
For a large number of people love is just one aspect of their life. There are much greater things in their story. Modern Bollywood movies tell those stories without letting romance overshadow the narrative. Love is rarely over the top and dramatic. Most movies show love in different ways. Finally, the newer generation of Indians is more open to sex than in the past. They do expect their romances to be physical. Movies reflect that.
Gully Boy had a love story but the rapping took precedence and they were young modern Indians whose notion of love is fickle and physical. Photograph and Sir have love stories, but very subtle, subdued, reflecting how big barriers can be. No LaLa fantasy that two people can fall in love sing songs, make lofty dialogues, and have everything fall in place.
Yes to everything! I am glad we are done with Lala fantasy love stories apparently the best filmmakers in the country like kjo, Aditya Chopra made. Happy that we have moved on to other types of semi realistic love stories.
