She is steady - 3 to 5k / day . Pawan - 3 -4K/day. Rest 1k/day except Nihal and Sawai. Sayli is getting more love now than the others in this lot.

My guess would have been that they get more than that.
Maybe each episode they stay the pay increases.
Sony is making big money from the show. I am sure the judges , host and guests are getting paid a lot more per episode.

I know a past contestant. At least in that contestant's time there was 0 payment. Someone in some other thread mentioned that they get paid - maybe now, I don't know. But I still maintain that it is not the usual practice - they all perform for free. They get all expenses paid and teenage girls get to bring and keep a guardian with them for free.
The money is made from the exposure and badge post the show. A singer with an Idol badge usually double or triples their show rates, especially if they become mini celebs.All the money for singers is in shows. not from playback. They mostly record for free or for a tiny signing amount. Unless they are Shreya, Arijit, Sunidhi etc.
