That said, I'm still hoping Adi-Rupi talk before Didi ka suicide attempt.....maybe it's wishful thinking from my side....lol they might be saving that convo for after the suicide attempt when Adi is wallowing in guilt....maybe Rupi will give him perspective then.

Aapki hope mein meri bhi hope add kar lo! Imlie, Adi and Rupi need to sit and talk. And I really dont understand why they would not show that? I get it ki daily soap ka drama chahiye, but not for the majority of the episode na! Like that drama and dramebaz are pretty much there all the time. Anyhoo..It also boggles my mind- everyone literally everyone know that there is some sach that Adi wants to tell.. Tripathis, Malini.. but naa! kabhi koi present hota hai toh koi absent in the sach ka revelation ya fir interruptions hi itne hote hain.. jitne doordarshan mein na the! How do they even go about without knowing the sach ka mystery..?! So after the suicide track, are they all gonna be ghajini? Adi ka Sach jayega tel lene..The ultimate truth will be Malini..*facepalm*.

I can only hope to see some Rupi di and Imlie bonding now and maybe some comic relief from Sundar!

@bold We had a similar discussion before...about Imlie being solar and Malini being lunar in nature. I like how the makers are overtly addressing this theme now. As you have rightly pointed out, Imlie is the source of her own light...she cuts through all the darkness/setbacks in her life and forges her own path. Just like the sun. She lights up any space she is in no matter how dark it was previously, spreading joy and sunshine to others along the way. :) Whereas Malini who is lunar in nature cannot generate her own light, she has to seek it externally, like the moon. Coincidentally or not so coincidentally, that was the name given to her by Aditya.😆 She doesn't have a mind of her own and always relies on other people to make decisions in her life. She literally had to be prodded by her Dad and Daadi to connect the dots about Adi-Imlie, even that she couldn't do on her own.😆

Interesting also how since the start of the show, she consciously or subconsciously connected herself to Imlie to make herself relevant in Adi's life.🤣 She bestowed her 'kindness' on Imlie to prop her image in front of Adi and the Ts, she was banking on Imlie's light since the very start.😛 I was re-watching some of the old epis and Imlie came up in almost every convo between Adi-Malini.😆 Her current attempts to dim Imlie's light by putting her down is self-defeating because by doing this she is creating darkness in her own life. The moon's light is a mirage which cannot sustain without the sun's light.

I can only hope that our solar Jhalli Imlie will generate her own light and cut through the current and upcoming darkness following her suicide stunt.

@bold: LOL yes, I do remember those early days.....all Adi-Malini convos before the PD trip only revolved around how he is obligated to fulfill her wish of them getting married😆.....and after he came back from PD with Imlie in tow, yes, pretty much every Adi-Malini convo revolved around Imlie....initial convos were about Malini being miffed with him for not telling her about Imlie.....then later on somehow Malini seemed to sense that the only way to keep herself relevant was to play the benevolent didi to Imlie...and she laid it on thick on that front as much as she could....especially to contrast herself from Adi who was being mean to Imlie then.....so Malini found an opening to appropriate Imlie's light and prop herself up in the process in the eyes of everyone......it has always been a very subtle effort to define Imlie on her own terms and define how much of Imlie's light should shine through. Too bad for Malini, she doesn't realize that she's not dealing with any average light source.....Imlie's light and energy is meant to blaze through on its own path.....as Adi beautifully described in the article he just wrote.

Oh I just recalled something else.....remember that scene at Imlie's b'day party when Mrs. C called her sadak ki dhool? And Malini didi supposedly felt so bad that she didn't even know how to go in front of Imlie to apologize so she "sent" Adi to Imile instead?😆.....Back then I'd thought it was just serendipity that Adi was meant to go talk to Imlie then and Malini became the instrument to send him....but now I'm reflecting further and realizing that Malini had a great opening there to directly apologize to Imlie for her mother's misbehavior, for saying such a horrible demeaning thing to Imlie.....yet she didn't. I now find it even harder to believe her claim that it was cuz she was feeling too ashamed of her mom's actions.....nope, the real truth all along has been that she never felt the regret sincerely enough to give Imlie her due regard/respect.....all Malini could ever manage was token angry retorts to her Mom and "ordering" Imlie to keep the gold chain.....when it came to actually apologizing to Imlie and propping up her self-worth, then suddenly Malini didi ki "shame" came in between? Oh please. The elitism has always been there, along with ready easy excuses to get out of actually giving Imlie the respect she deserves as a human being, not some meherbaani done to a "servant".

So too bad for Malini that Adi ended up using that opportunity to apologize for his own misbehavior with Imlie and actually uplifted Imlie's worth to a whole other extent by inviting her into his room. Malini has never made any actual efforts to lift Imlie's worth....she's been all talk for appearance sake. It's now more clear than ever.

Re: the lunar/solar comparison....lol it also feels ironic to me that the Moon is so romanticized in poetry/fiction otherwise but it's a cold/barren place in actuality.....while the sun is literally the source of light/life itself in many ways.

Waise this reminds me again ki Aditya means "sun" but Imlie somehow is the solar source that Didi seems to appropriate light from more instead😆

I think there has been another reason for Dementor Didi to establish a close relationship with Imlie other than showing herself as mahaan. That reason is her insecurity with regards to Adi.

We were shown how she was always doubting on him while he was in PD ki koi aur mil jaayegi waha pe & asking him about Imlie when she heard her voice in background during their call. And the next thing she knew was that Adi had brought Imlie with him from PD. So she was full on suspicious about him bringing Imlie with him. But seeing Adi's behaviour with Imlie she got over her suspicion but she is an insecure person innately so she wanted Adi-Imlie relationship to remain the same.

Hence her befriending Imlie & being extra nice to her. She established a closer connection with Imlie herself so that she can control Adi's connection with Imlie. So whenever Adi behaved in his usual rude manner to Imlie, Dementor Didi would do the token scolding of Adi. But if he did anything for Imlie on his own then she did not like it.

Take for example, Adi bringing Kurta for Imlie on his own during the mall episode. She quickly made Adi conscious about it by saying that he never buys anything by himself for her which made Adi say that she should give the kurta to Imlie herself. Then when she went to give the kurta to Imlie & Imlie offered her Imlie to taste she said that she likes Imlie but someone else has also started liking Imlie- Aditya, which made Imlie also conscious of showing her reaction. Earlier when I saw it, I didn't find Dementor Didi's behaviour weird but now that we have come to know her MO, even this scene looks like she slyly made both of them conscious about the kurta.

Then we got many such scenes like Adi giving Imlie permission to enter his room, Adi-Imlie bike ride in rain, Adi making Imlie drink his jhoota kadha, etc wherein Dementor Didi felt that Adi was doing something for Imlie on his own & she immediately let him know that she didn't appreciate it making him feel even more guilty for showing any concern for Imlie.

So what I am coming at is Dementor Didi being close to Imlie was also a way of controlling Adi-Imlie interactions apart from propping her self image. If it was only a matter of being seen as caring then she could have established a more closer bond with one of the family members as well like Rupi Di or Nidhi.
