Yeah, I have to agree with you, Shiva doesn't normally give two-cents about what Prafulla thinks. But, I've always thought time and place and situation all really matter. Back then, those two were no more than distant-ish relatives. Now Shiva is married to Prafulla's almost daughter. And, he is also fully aware that Prafulla wants Raavi to leave the relationship.

I think if Prafulla told Shiva she didn't want Raavi to be with him because he was scary, too buff, volatile, I think it would be something else. But if she said she didn't want Raavi to be with him because he was a "gawar" I think it would really, really hurt him as it seems like some of his insecurities are stemming from not being as "good" as his brothers on paper.

In the Telugu version, Shiva ends up crying and saying something along the lines of "What did I do to deserve all of this? I didn't ask for any of this," and based on Shiva's quietness, I think we'll be going down that path. His meltdown (despite heartbreaking), will be needed for him to heal.
