The only western shows I watch are the fantasy ones. I was a huge fan of GOT before the story went down the drain post season 6. Loved The Witcher and looking forward to the new season. Now I'm excited for Shadow and Bone.
I am into crime/ law/ humour and romance đ

In real life, a college student with nothing to her name getting married to a way older and established man is never received by the society properly. One of my classmate's younger sister - a 19 year old got married to a cop who was 31 years old. And it was a love marriage. All of us were like whaaaaattttttt????? And the best/worst part??? Her own elder sister, my classmate was deeply ashamed of it. For months she lied to us that all the shopping that she did was for her elder cousin, dur ki rishtedar's marriage. We found out the truth through social media lmao. Somebody came across the younger sis's insta account and saw all the wedding pictures.
Looking back now, I feel that so much speculation wouldn't have happened if she hadn't gone to such lengths to keep her sister's wedding hidden from everyone.... Like she made it very obvious that she didn't want to associate with her and the BIL at all.
So I know, such marriages always raise eyebrows.
Society has itâs standards and your heart should have itâs own.
Iâm not into arranged martiage that has this age gap and not the girlâs consent.
But in love marriage, Iâm more of a âyou love who youâll loveâ as long as youâre not hurting someone. I have seen many divorces and happy second marriages in my family and friends circle.
@bold: the power dynamics of such a couple should raise eyebrows.

I agree and I really love that he is able to guide her since she has not seen the world,
She is naive and his protectiveness for her is what attracts me to him.
But when I say he treats her as an equal, I mean he should not take decisions for her/ for them without having a conversation.
As long as he respects that she is brining in the equality in emo matters and acknowledges it , it is cool.
But you know, IRL also, so many times, older men will be like-you are a kid, you do not know , I know better so that is why we will do this. That is not fair.
Itâs not even that much older men. My husband is 5 years older and he thinks he knows everything. It helps that Iâm a very loud assertive personality so he canât steamroll me!đł

I haven't seen Shaurya treating Anokhi like a kid ever. Infact , he learns alot of stuff from her.
Tbh, he becomes a kid when he's vulnerable and she acts older đ

My inlaws were 10 years apart(mom in law was 16) and My parents are 5 years apart(mom was 27).
I was 28 when I got married. I don't like to judge it, but I don't want to accept it as normal either. I liked Anokhi's debate speech where she stood up for herself and really did call out how parents borrow money for beti's bidaai.
I think this mentality now is because I'm Malayalee. Generally, we don't marry off girls until they're done with their education now. There's still people that believe marriage is the end goal and probably educate their girls because it looks more competitive in the marriage market. But whatever the reason, I don't think a girl should enter marriage, if she's not self sufficient enough to be able to leave it if need be.
I can relate to you so much. I'm Bengali and over here too, women don't get married that early. In fact all my cousins got married close to 30 years. Some of them are 30+ and haven't married yet. My sister is 28 - no discussion of marriage yet. I'm 23 and still studying and I'm the youngest from my dad's side. I don't think my khandan will even bother to look for a match for me by the time they are done with all my cousins and my sister. They'll get tired lol...
I think marriage culture depends on community and region a lot.
@bold agree with you 100%. Love is too insufficient a reason for a woman to be taking such a big risk. Before getting married, every woman should have a safety net that she can fall back on should things turn ugly... And maayke wale are not a very reliable safety net.

I think she acts real mature and he acts real immature, so they really just meet in the mental age of 25!
There's a very popular saying that every man is mentally 8 years younger than their biological age. So SS is 22 yrs old. Just like a college student lol

So far he has not. I hope they maintain it.
All shades of SS makes him more adorable.
Today also, the way he was placating Babli was too cute
