Problem is that Rahul only wanted her after she became hot acc to BW standards and he saw she had boobs.

If she'd been shown not changing herself to suit societal preconceptions, and he was shown as having grown emotionally, it would've been a good film.

Or at least if she called him out on it. Or maybe even had ONE SINGLE SCENE where she dressed like she had before, and he remained in love.

I wouldn't blame the stereotyping so much ,considering when it came out; people hadn't been processing these things much back then. It doesn't age well for sure

What I hated the most , even back then as a 13 yr old ,was how full of himself Rahul was. It was ALL about him. Anjali left out of nowhere but he made no efforts to contact her. It would be hard to believe he didn't know where she lived. He loved her as a friend but even then he didn't stand up for well enough when she was mocked for her over the top make over. She was basically a prop in his life . Was his best friend when she played basket ball. Became his love interest when he saw her pallu drop. Urgh.

Another terrible thing about the movie was the way Tina dumped on this drama on her little daughter. Who the f writes letters about their college romance to their 8 yr old daughter !

I keep watching it though ,everytime it's on TV . For old times sake : D

P.S I agree @ Bold

K3G- I can watch it baar baar lagaataar without getting bored. It’s on par with Barjatya’s HAHK for me.

Kal Ho Na Ho - depressed heroine (though Preeti looked more annoyed than depressed), with a father who has a kid out of wedlock and commits suicide. Dying hero, pretty sad all around but still one of Karan's funniest movies. Karan should've directed this as well.

KKHH is my favorite, mostly for nostalgic reason -- don't think I'd like it much if I were to watch it today.

KHNH is probably his best made film.

And K3G is also a good movie for what it aims to be -- a hilarious escapist melodrama that you watch to have a bit of fun.

KANK had some good scenes here and there, but as a whole it's uneven and a failed attempt.

MNIK was garbage.

Why didn't you include MNIK or maybe I missed it and you did?

I found k3g and kkhh entertaining ...kkhh had more heart

K3g I felt the conflict and resolution was too flimsy...

So Amitabh is this patriarch who has a chip on his shoulder abt being rich and kicks Rahul out coz he went against him

But the never show how her realised he was wrong (except that he misses Rahul)

He dosent have a humbling moment of a learning moment where he realises falling in love with someone outside ur social structure isn’t a bad thing....and kajol isnt “unfit” for srk .....and being middle class isn’t shameful....he dosent see them happy and change his ways ...dosent have a realisation

the only thing is Jayas character telling him to stfu and stop taking everybody’s decisions for them 😂

The emotional climax is literally “omg I missed u...come back u”😒

That part felt flimsy so couldn’t emotionally connect with the movie but it’s funny portions are entertaining 😂
