The problem with Adi-Malini isn't that they chose to marry their "best friend"....the problem is that it was never even real basic friendship also to begin with.....actual friends would have known each other better than these two did😆.

Not saying that all marriages based on friendship work out....it depends on the kind of friendship the people in question share to see if it can actually translate it into a successful marriage. Otherwise yes, that chance always remains ki shaadi ki chakkar mein you might even end up losing a good friend whom you otherwise might have been able to sustain friendship with. Marriage is a whole other animal that needs understanding /communication along with friendship.....not every friendship has that kind of understanding in it by default.

As you said, many times, even a friendship is built around convenience ki saath hang out kar liya, fun kar liya toh life aise hi mast kaat lenge😆.....marriage requires a different level of investment in it than a friendship.

In Adi's case, the issue is more that he's realizing he didn't know himself for so long and didn't realize that he needs more than a comfort/convenience wala rishta to be happy in life.....in Imlie, he's discovered love that makes him feel alive like he's never felt before....so how do you go back to just "existing" in convenience when you realize the sheer life that love breathes into you?

Yes - Agree with you- I was wrong on that point. It is obvious from the precap from what Imlie says that her issue is that she cannot claim happiness for herself at the risk of everyone else’s unhappiness. And I guess we can attribute it to her naivete that she thinks the status quo before she bhaagofied and left for PD is acceptable to all. She still can’t see BS’s view that he cannot love Malini or even bear to be with her anymore.

I guess ise hi Karma bolte hain😆. Apni choices ka hisaab kitaab isi janam mein dena padta hai.....Adi can be a cautionary tale for people to think about who they are choosing rather than just going by surface level presumptions about what they need in life.

LOL as others have said, it's likely that Rupi may keep this revelation to herself for a bit rather than confronting Adi-Imlie about it😆.....so we may not fully get a sense of who she is supporting that soon.

I don't think Rupi will misunderstand....they pretty much showed her getting a full picture of where things are....she heard Imlie pleading with Adi to bring Malini back and asking him how he can hurt the family like this, she heard Adi say that he wants to fight everyone to ask for Imlie's hand😆, she heard Imlie say that she can do anything for Babusahib but she cannot make Malini unhappy....and then finally she heard Adi say directly ki PD mein un dono ki shaadi ho gayi thi jismein unki galti nahin thi......this is pretty much as full of a picture as one can get in overhearing😆.

So that actually now makes me think that them showing her overhearing so many critical points means she will keep it to herself for a bit as she tries to gauge the situation.....cuz there aren't really any major missing pieces left for her to get after that.....lol

I think thoda toh story will stabilize in the interim before next round of Didi ka atyachaar with suicide attempt....woh toh next week hi aayega some time.....first we see what the remaining epis of this week bring.

Please explain this to me. What did they talk for hours at a time? I mean did they even meet for hours. Whatever we saw about before marriage Aditi-Malini scenes, they just met for restaurant dates. And phone calls were all obligatory. And if they did talk for hours, inke beech ki understanding ko kya hua after marriage? I was happy to see flashback scene of Aparna-Aditya today. We need a little more details on this 7 years of "perfect" relationship that Aditya, Malini, T family all of them seem to think they had. Except Mrs C, everyone else was living in a bubble it seems. With all their aap aap, I do not think Aditya ever let his guard down completely in front of Malini. Like how he runs around with Imlie, I can never imagine him doing that with Malini. Also, Malini has no idea how to deal with his anger and that is because Aditya has never allowed her to calm him down. I remember that scene of car-bike, when the whole family had gathered on the terrace (or whatever that place is in T house), everybody tried to stop him from leaving the terrace and letting his anger go, but no one could stop him. But one babusaheb from Imlie and he stopped. So yeah, Aditya never let his guard down in front of Malini toh kya fight karege yeh dono and kya baat karege? 😆

Wow, again an episode packed with so many things... Wonder if it was because of the upcoming lockdown and uncertain future before the Hyderabad decision.

As soon as I saw the flashback, I remembered our discussion that we need an insight to their past relationship. So Malini married Aditya because he was her best friend and Aditya married her because he could talk to her for hours. So basically they gave friendship the name of love but frankly at this point, I am even questioning the friendship. As you said, Aditya just went with the flow because he was expected to get married and who better than Malini who never demanded time from him. As long as he was apologetic about the fact, she was Ok. He called her understanding and ofcourse she was going to be understanding because Aditya would have been in full "moon jaap" mode every time they met because she never demanded. Malini was happy because he was giving her the importance and making her feel like the princess. Thats the whole cruz of the issue now because Malini is not getting that and Aditya is incapable of doing that. Hence, the understanding, class, calmness,all the reasons he married her are going up in the air and the real Malini is been seen. Her facade of niceness was intact till things were being catered as per her wishes and now that they are not, the facade is coming off. The façade of victimizing herself in any situation has become so much a part of herself that she can go to the deep end and still manage to show herself as victim as we saw in the episode today. Malini wants Aditya and to have him in her life, she will cross all limts. Like she said, she tried everything and its not working because Aditya refuses to tell her things that are not true anymore. The more he does that the more she is going to try desperate things. Thus, I think we should gather all the patience in the world and watch how Malini make everybody life hell but still comes out as a victim.

Coming to Imlie, her actions are because she is only seeing fights after she came from PD, Before that A-M relationship was all lovey-dovey. Hence she is blaming her relationship and feelings that they have for each other for Malini's dukh. She does not have the insight to A-M relationship that we as audience have and hence she is pushing Aditya toward Malini. One of the things that I really liked today was Aditya telling Imlie that do not come in between them and in a way its true. The marriage was their marzi and now that its not working the state of it needs to be A-M decision. I wished they would elaborated this point and given her the clarity that though his feelings for Imlie are the instigator, they are not the reason for the break or the fights. That relationship was doomed irrespective of her because Aditya and Malini are not made for each other. Kitni bhi koshish karo, there will always be unhappiness there because there is no understanding, their soch, which was one of the reasons of marriage, is different., And now that he is seeing this new face of Malini, where she is not understanding, calm and is class conscious, again all reasons why he married her, even if the whole world tries he cannot be truthful to that relationship. This Malini is the epitome of the person that Aditya totally dislikes so even if he tries he cannot be the old Aditya. say things that are not true and hence Malini will always be dukhi.

Today Aditya and Malini were picture of two people spiraling out of control. Malini stance to get him back is reaching desperate levels and Aditya because of Imlie is suppressing his emotions again. Emotions that are fighting to come out. I agree with @Fary, itna bhi push nahi karo ki woh pura irrational ho jaye...but now we just wants to see who explodes first. From the spoilers, its seems its Malini but at least with Rupi Di knowing the sach, Imlie might get that female insight and understand that force se rishta niba sakte hain but khushi nahi de sakte.

To me, it seemed clear that this "talking" only involved Malini mirroring whatever Adi wanted to hear. If he spoke about his ideals and his pride in his aam aadmi background, Didi promptly responded with how she also believes the same ki social status doesn't matter, she admires his principles etc.😆.....aise hi kar li hongi baatein😆. And Adi ko dekh ke lagta kahaan hai that he was even paying that much close attention to what she was talking about....lol bas wohi detachment zone mein jitni baat cheet kar li probably seemed to him like this is as good as it gets in life. 😆

Obviously it was all a facade....no genuine relationship would have so much formality and hesitation to deal with conflict in it. The very fact that Adi thought "kabhi ladaai nahin hogi" was a reason to choose Malini was a red flag enough😆.

Imlie ke saath toh shuru se hi alag level ka connect tha...she was pulling reactions out of him that no one had before....and he probably never even realized when she became the only one with the power to stop him in his tracks many times....that terrace scene being one of many such incidents. Too bad they all have amnesia about it now....lol Babusahib also never thought again about that poem that finally made him forgive Malini....Didi ne le liya muft ka credit mazey mein, Imlie ne chhod diya credit guilt mein....sab aise hi chalte rahe😆

Until they show the characters in the story actually talking through all this, we can only wait and watch....hum sab ko toh dikh gaya hai ki yeh ek khokhla rishta tha and they all just kept deluding themselves....now Adi simply needs to accept and explain that to others too.

Chalo- wouldn’t mind Rupi digesting this information herself- if we get to see how she goes through the scenes with proof that Imlie was married to Adi when she entered the house. How sad she was at Adi Ni wedding, how she always seemed to understand Rupi ka dard. It will be very satisfying to see Imlaiya being redeemed. Am fed up with the silence . But I guess even that we have to hand it to the makers that we can actually feel the suffocation of the current plot and Imlie’s idea of making everyone happy is not the best one
