Also since celebs are so worshiped, them flicking around everywhere doesn’t enforce the “stay at home” thing at all and encourages people to travel and move around.

We have always lived in dark times; it's just that the middle class has always turned a blind eye to the suffering of the poor and the downtrodden. Since the middle class is being affected badly now, we expect the rich to give up their luxuries and way of life, when the middle class didn't do it for a less privileged section of the society before?

If celebs are worshipped, it's only incidental. They never asked to be worshipped. They never claimed to be superheroes or holier than thou. If people have built such a perception about them, it's not the celebs' fault.

And what stay at home nonsense are you spouting. There is no such rule. There is no lockdown. Only night curfew and weekend curfew. The other times one is allowed to go about their business. Travel isn't restricted, flights are still plying. So what is wrong in what they are doing if they are abiding by the rules and not breaking the law?

I think it would have been best to avoid travelling, given they tested positive recently

But that’s not what actors/actresses jobs are, and just because they are rich or even influential we can’t say they have to do something. The only responsibilities they really have are the same we all have, to pay their dues (taxes, etc.), do their jobs and take care of themselves and their families. Some may be in a position or a mindset to do more and others may not, that’s their own prerogative. Also, they are paid based on the amount of money they make for their producers, directors, brands, etc. so there’s nothing wrong with how much they make, you can’t judge it like a normal job. Lastly, if you’re expecting stars posting to make a difference in the pandemic response you’ll be waiting a long time, the stars that tried here in America are essentially all being bashed as “sheep”. So really, if stars can’t win by doing good either, why shouldn’t they just do what they can for themselves?

If someone is in distress and a privileged person in position to help then wouldn't you expect that person to be a little selfless. Especially when it won't take anything from them. It's the bare minimum they can do. Half of the Bollywood has recovered from Covid but I wonder how many of them volunteered to donate Plasma. Flaunting your luxury in time like this is even more insensitive. Worst is when same people are putting post about how one should stay at home and take precautions while they can go and "relax"... Tbh I never expected anything from Bollywood as this industry has time and again proved how shallow and ignorant it is but I don't mind them being slammed for this. If they can be praised to heights and treated like gods and goddesses just for existing then they absolutely deserved little bit of backlash from general public, that is not jealous but just hurt!

Also by being paid I meant them going on a sponsored trip .

The country is in lockdown and Maharashtra still is the worst hit state. I don't know what restrictions are there for travel but in times like this one would expect one to only leave their homes if it's for work. But no entire Bollywood is having a blast at Maldives and preaching public about taking precautions. It's understandable people are pissed off.

I simply can't see this outrage from Twitteratti as more than a combo of envy and fan groupism.

Sponsored or not, someone is paying for the trip. And yeah, that does keep jobs going.

They got the virus and are likely immune for a few months at a minimum. They're not going to catch it or spread it.

Nor is their not going about to change lives for the common man. Neither is a healthcare worker or in other essential services. Neither is a public servant flouting the rules made for citizens. Heck, there *are* no travel restrictions that they're flouting.

They're clearly wearing masks, anyway. So are the people around them.

Also, FYI. The virus is *less likely* to spread outdoors as acknowledged now by CDC. Strict lockdowns made sense when we didn't know anything about it. Now, we know that mortality is mostly in the elderly and the chronically ill populations. So why not let everyone else continue with normal lives *with* proper precautions?

If people are waiting for zero virus, you'll be waiting until eternity. Bugs have been present since the formation of life on earth and will be there until all life ceases here. Trick is to limit morbidity and mortality.

Most travel lines if not all require negative Covid tests to travel. If they're able to travel they're negative: and even timeline wise; if it's been 10 days since symptom onset and symptomatically they've recovered, they are no longer infectious. This is per cdc. I still don't understand the problem

When you have virus like this, it is good to have good amount of rest for 4-5 months after you recover completely. Otherwise you can have muscle pain in you body or other side effects.

There's no medical literature that supports this. It's based on individual basis, the people that recover should be active. Exercise is always preferred over bedrest in most medical conditions including even pregnancy these days.

Not true. I tested positive a few weeks back and as soon as I tested negative I resumed my usual routine, which involves 10 km of running every day. I don't feel any different from before, no muscle pain whatsoever.

It's like a regular flu if you are young and do not have any other medical condition (co-morbidities). No need to take rest for 5 months lol.
