Agreed, but you can't expect a pitch perfect ITV show but Diya aur baati is a very progressive show. if they just had to just show sandhya's journey the show would probably end in 200+ episodes. The way they weaved the story even around sooraj's masterchef competition was appreciable. And like I mentioned sooraj is one of the best MLs. The jodi didn't get the hype because they don't resonate with youth with all tashan and passion.
Adding to that, no show, especially on ITV and on this channel can be completely devoid of patriarchal notions, but from what ive read (i did not follow the show), they made an honest attempt and you've got to give it up for them for atleast trying to bring a different perspective.
