Marriage teaches both individuals to understand and grow according to the other persons expectations. If they change their weakness and learn from each other positives they will eventually bring about the best versions in each other. I think this story is showing that with both the characters. 👍

I like how aptly you penned down!

Thanks dear. You have summarised or given my writing a very nice ending ❤.

Since it was a reply to a post, I didn't tag you, was wondering if I should or not 😆.

Virat is a soft spoken person, kind at heart, a person who works towards achieving peace and a person who likes to maintain peace.

Virat's words for Sai.

"Tum na kisi ke saath galat karti ho na kisi ke saath galat hote hue dekh sakthi ho".

Virat wouldn't do injustice to anyone, could have done it unintentionally, but can never do it knowingly. This is the first part of the above statement. But, what about the second part?

Galat hote hue dekhna? Virat can do it and that is the difference, dekhke andekha karna.

He can ignore some things, which, when objected would disrupt normalcy in the family, disrupt the peace. He prefers to stay quiet many times, even when something is going wrong, prefers to not raise voice against it, to stall issues or turn blind to a few things that are not right. Wrong is wrong, small or big. To him, if it can be tolerated, he would or would let his Aai to too. He would let go of things which are not too harmful. He chooses to act on issues depending on the magnitude of it.

He is a very patient person, has tolerance, withstanding abilities "sehenshakti". Why wouldn't he? His Aai is like that, who has tolerated many wrong doings. There is a saying, one who lets people to continue to do something wrong also has a hand in that wrong. One shouldn't tolerate atrocities subjected on them. If they do, they are equally wrong.

Tolerance, what does it mean? The ability or willingness to tolerate the existence of opinions or behaviour that one dislikes or disagrees with. (Ref: dictionary)

Not all issues have to be refuted, fought against or rebelled.

Tolerance doesn't mean tolerate wrongdoings, doesn't mean turn blind to it. Many in CN are conditioned to tolerate wrongdoings including Virat, especially when something wrong is happening within his house. As I have said, he choose to ignore or act depending upon the magnitude of the issue.

Sai might be arrogant, rude, impulsive, not well behaved at all times, chooses to refute or fight back or rebel even for not too big things, issues that can be ignored, that can be handled tactfully, dealt with a calm mind. However Sai, if conditioned, if taught, can learn not to do these over a period of time with a proper guidance.

But there is one trait that cannot be changed in Sai, what she can develop is tolerance but she can never tolerate any wrong doings. Small or big, if it is wrong, she will raise voice against it, fights against it and if needed would rebel too and will do it always.

This quality in a person can be an inspiration to others and here it is for Virat. Though he has the ability to raise voice against wrong doings however small he is, he would choose to maintain or achieve peace. Virat is impressed with this quality in Sai.

The first line that I have mentioned is like a fundamental thing because both of their heart is at the right place, love for all, he also cannot do any injustice to anyone, but the other part which is making him incomplete in a way is

"na hi kisike saath galat hote hue dekh sakthi ho". That gap is filled due to the presence of Sai in his life.

Sai might learn a few things from him, she is not there yet, is in progress, she will have to work on many things, she is not as experienced as Virat in life, wasn't born and brought up in a house like Virat's. Absorbing all the changes will or has taken time for her, hence to bring in changes within her based on the exposure she has got after marrying Virat is taking time.

Whereas for Virat, he had many qualities already in place due to his Aai, his house, his family, his age, experience and exposure. The only thing that lacked in him was to ensure to stand up for right always, to fight back against wrong, however small it is.

Fight back doesn't mean literally fighting, standing up against it , raising voice against it is enough. And this quality as I have mentioned above, Virat has been absorbing from Sai.

"Kharbooje ko dekhkar kharbooja rang badalta hai" Bua's words.

Bua was shocked when Virat supported Sai by speaking against his Dad, asking him to let Sai handle Devi when Devi threw a doll saying the doll was her pati.

Bua was shocked and surprised when Virat supported his Aai on the day everyone kept looking for where Sai was (she had been to Pakhi's house). She shared with Ashwini that Virat supported her and spoke against his Dad who spoke ill about Ashwini. Changes started to develop within Virat slowly after Sai entered his life.

He started to put forth his views, raise objections when things went wrong, stop people bad mouthing his Aai, started to fight for what is right, rebelled to bring in changes in the house by supporting Sai in her education, standing up for Shivani Bua or Mohit or Sai.

This is the same person who has never or hardly ever raised voice against his Dad or Kaku. He might have stood for what is right, but might not have fought against what was going wrong, not always.

One can question if only Sai can bring in this quality within him. Not all girls are Sai.

There are people who are good at heart, have love for all but would like to mind their own business, would like to do what is good for them and not do anything that would jeopardize their position in an inlaws house. They would act conscious and always be careful that they do not fall into problems while doing something right or while standing up against what is wrong.

This is where Sai stands out.

Sai's actions, her goodness, her nature to stand against anything wrong with no fear reminds me of a few lines from the famous poet Mahakavi Bharathiyar. Below is the translation of the poem and not the actual poem. I have mentioned where and how she is wrong above, all she needa to do is work on them, bring in those changes within her and correct herself.

Fear I have not , fear I have not,

Even if all the world opposes me,

Fear I have not, fear I have not,

Even if they judge me as the worst,

And tell things bad about me,

Fear I have not, Fear I have not,

Even if I am fated to live by begging,

Fear I have not, Fear I have not,

Even if I loose all my wealth due to desires,

Fear I have not, fear I have not.

The original lines from the regional language :

Sorry about the long post. Sorry that I couldn't reply on the same day that you had posted.

loved your reply lakshmi. this is actually where sairat has my heart absolutely. they learn, they adapt to each other sub-consiously. the thing is, not only virat everyone in the house are learning to raise their voice against wrong, put forth their point of view because of sai. i believe family is where we can speak without fear of being judged, rejected or outcasted. it should be love which binds the family not fear. till now it was fear which was binding the chavans together. but it is changing with so many of them joining ranks with sai and speaking up for themselves and others and it will further change with each incident going forward.

also i believe virat brings out the best in sai as well. if you see there is a lot of change in her since the beginning days of her marriage to now. she has leart to tone down to some extent. she still has long way to go. she is still very young, has limited life experiences but i am sure with virat and aai’s influence she will learn as well. but her fierceness is something which makes her sai and that i believe will not change ever.

Thank you 😊.

@bold beautifully put. Yes, her this trait is an inspiration for other family members too.

@italics Absolutely. Sai has a long way to go, she will have to learn and will learn. She has just come out of her shell. Definitely, the fierceness is what makes her Sai 😆 .
