Like shaurya said if he genuinely feel sorry he'll say it no need to lecture him.

But this time he is not able to say because he has not realized his mistake.

Most of the time people are quick to apologize because they dont understand the intensity of their words and keeping mum is better than such useless apologies.

To be very honest no amount of sorry would be enough for what he said but an apology which is genuinely felt and said can make a little difference

Usne raita failaya hai ab sorry ke alawa wo kuch nhi kar sakta and we can only hope that he doesn't repeat this...
