I am hindu . In my religion mangalsutra is symbol of love of husband , happy marriage life and HUSBAND.

It is definitely not any fashion jewellery jo Aj kal log usko bana rahe hai. It is definitely belongs to husband and happy marriage.

I have seen widow women wearing mangalsutra in the memory of their beloved husband and their happy marriage but I have never seen divorcee woman due to betrayal of husband wearing it even out of fashion , husband and happy marriage to durr ki baat hai.

Divorcee women because of husband’s betrayal also wears magalsutra is like insult of the purpose of mangalsutra and in real life this the first divorcee woman I am seeing who is wearing mangalsutra may be because of fashion because no other symbolic factor is left.

Kya ap logo ne kisi soon to be divorcee lady (because of husband’s betrayal) ko with mangalsutra dekha hai ?? Please share your experience. I am seeing so many divorcee friends around me and some are in the process of divorce but I am not seeing any of them wearing mangalsutra during divorce. They are not wearing it even out of fashion.

Wearing mangalsutra during divorce or even after UGLY divorce is very new thing for me . I have seen only widows doing it in the memory of their loving husband . I have never scene someone wearing it for cheater husband who bring sautan in the same house.

Please share your views for real world and the society in which you live.I am curious to know.

I have never seen anyone other than married women wearing a mangalsutra... neither in media nor irl...

Yes I have seen some more modern/westernised married women forgo both of those for daily wear, but never any unmarried/divorced/widowed women wearing it for fashion or any other reason...

And that is probably because mangalsutra has only one meaning- to keep the husband and wife happy together as a couple. So no, it actually has nothing to do with "badon ka aashirwad" as Anu was saying to Kavya in Toshu's wedding (I liked her slapping Kavya but found that comment strange even then)...

Some very, very extremely traditional and old-fashioned Hindus believe there is no such thing as divorce, (much less remarriage after divorce), so to someone with an extremely traditional (and fairly regressive tbh) mind set Anu and Vanraj will always be married (Kavya will always just be a mistress) , and taking off the mangalsutra would endanger Vanraj's health/happiness.

But if Anu subscribed to that way of thinking, then why would she file for divorce? And even those who believe divorce is a sin wouldn't think separation is wrong if the husband has brought his mistress into the house...

So now Anu is turning out to be more regressive than our great-great gradmothers' generations, who may not have taken off their mangalsutra but surely if their husband brought his mistress home and their maternal family was ready to have them back they would leave the house and go...

To conclude, I do find it pretty senseless that Anu still wears the mangalsutra, but I would prefer if she wore it and left than staying with VanYa and taking it off...

But of course Anu 3.0 won't do either 😊

But then again how often do we see wife and gf of the same man living under one roof?

Watching this show is definitely expanding my horizons & knowledge of what a sanskari parivar is😏

As Rakhi said “ I don’t understand this family “

A different perspective from experience . I have worked part time with a support group for such women before my baby birth ..most are what they faced and felt

When the divorce is in process and the lady needs to find a place to stay it is difficult for single women to find a decent place so many do say their husband is onsite and find a place

Some cases when the divorce is over they continue for safety reasons sad but true that married women are harressed slightly lesser

That is the main reason woman fight for alimony and mostly demands 50% ownership of house because housewife woman becomes homeless after divorce as maayka is technically father’s house and sasural is husband’s house.

Smart woman plans everything for her kids and herself so someone can’t taunt her that you are guest in our house .

But for that woman should have guts to fight for her own rights. In telly serial world neither woman have any self worth no brain to think realistically and practically. Isiliye serial ki heroins homeless ho jati hai.

I am talking about mostly women in small jobs that can sustain them and cases are still in court. Most have walked out due to torture or other women. They do not want other men to harasses them and continue to wear nuptial signs.

Not saying it's the right way ..but they are already fighting a legal battle , trying to sustain themselves .. fighting unwanted male attention and society is hard
