About the gold digger comment / I was initially really surprised when I read about Shaurya taking a dig at Anokhi with that comment. Seems too harsh and obviously not true given she works at the canteen for extra money and found that job on her own without anyone’s help. Part of me hopes that doesn’t happen on the actual show.

But yes, we’ve seen him be extremely harsh with two other people in the show that matter to him, whether he admits it or not - Shaan and Aastha. They’ve been at the receiving end of his temper and harsh words. If he feels sidelined or neglected by Anokhi, the same harshness and patriarchal views may stem out from frustration. However not sure how Anokhi will be able to quickly forgive him for that comment because it’s a direct attack to her independence and what she represents and believe in. She ran away from home without financial support and has tried to make ends meet on her end with limited support from Babli’s in laws (resorted to sleeping in a store room) moreover she returned the wedding jewelry back to her parents when she could have sold them for extra cash. Anokhis entire education wasn’t funded by her father but thanks to her academic achievement and numerous scholarships. Financial support for education always went to Raja.

Obviously Shaurya does not know her backstory (but he expressed an interest in understanding more about her father and her equation) similar to how Anokhi knew very little when it came to the Aastha and Shaurya backstory. Let see wat happens

In promos, he was clearly disgusting! 🤢 and hence, I never cared to watch the show till I saw clips on Instagram explaining he is not as bad as promos. 😆

I did mention it elsewhere, Shaurya being attracted to Anokhi inspite of knowing how much they have argued and without anokhi doing anything that could possibly attract him - astha ma'am jaap, arguing about everything, annoying him, etc. I have to be honest never seen Anokhi being caring towards Shaurya or Shaurya depending on her - we have seen him guilty because of her and jealous but never seen him get any care from her. So far, in my imagination, I see that Shaurya sees Anokhi is strong headed woman who keeps getting in trouble and he turns out to be her saviour - kind of making him a stronger one. And he probably likes that kind of relation where he can protect his lady and lady can continue showering thank yous? Maybe? That's just a thought - no tomatoes please. Hence, when he is attracted to her and he likes it when she keeps thinking about his greatness but when anyone else comes in the picture taking away his thank yous, he is on fire and brings out his typical thoughts about society and woman in general.

Again, Shaurya will turn out to be saviour to Anokhi in exposing the truth that she is not the cheater. He definitely trusts her, he has seen that before for sure, but CVs have made Shaurya do all the work for Anokhi.. Till these two met, Anokhi was probably able to handle all difficult tasks on her own (not sure, or was Babli and Astha the ones to expose her would be husband's truth?)

I went through some OG version description posts today.. There are a few places I do want to see differences...

1. Because Shagun's curse was well described in the forum, I watched few episodes that helped me understand what exactly happened there. Shagun did not appear to be entirely stupid to opt for Cambridge PhD over being married to Shaurya. Hence, I do want to see how Shaurya will deal with Anokhi in similar situation where she HAS to leave and separate from him for sake of her career. I don't want Shagun to come back though to marry Shaurya. That kills the whole purpose of curse and Shagun's confidence nature.

2. I want Astha to be little reluctant of alliance between Anokhi and Shaurya given the kind of struggles she went through. Just because Shaurya is her son and she likes Anokhi should not mean that she would agree that Anokhi will be happy given the kind of family she would be part of - irrespective of how Shaurya immediate families are great. But Shaurya has to understand the torture her mother would have gone through in Saberwal house to be so scared.

3. I do want Anokhi to do something for Shaurya, like help him in someway where he could see her strengths. 🤪apart from her smartness while answering questions in classroom.

@bold: Aastha put a doubt on her mind regarding her prospective groom which made her investigate. Anokhi did not manage everything on her own. Rama, Babli and Aastha helped her a lot in reaching where she is now. Actually that is not even possible for a girl her age without any resources.

I wish CVs address the points you have mentioned.

Hey,

So as I have said earlier a lot of times that the promos they initially showed were not misleading infact they were pretty much apt in showing the audience as to what they were getting into.

Till now, the way they have built Shaurya, people are able to sympathise with him and at the same time confine in him. Shaurya is promising, you feel secure when he says something but when it comes to his own self his emotions are generally all over the place.

Also, at the same time he is so well layered that even when he put across his orthodox opinions people tend to take his side (say 30%) since he has a lot clarity and conviction.

So I do expect him to insult Anokhi and go below the belt and like literally go all out on her in anger but at the same time I dont expect him to call her the name 'gold digger'.

Why? Okay so How do I explain this?!

So I see him acting as a covered chauvinist. Like he wont exactly say it but will mean it. He would be harsh but might still refrain himself from name calling her.

Why?

Because I dont think Shaurya is even a minute percent aware that his approach is wrong at times. He is like that and he finds nothing wrong with it. Why? Because he doesnt lack in direction and do things with a lot of clarity.

I have not watched a single scene of mohor so I can't say about shankha but with shaurya I do expect to see shades of him as ('safed chaddar odhe ek kaala badal')

At the same time, what is interesting is that Shaurya is good by heart and believes in justice. So because of his approach his methods can be wrong but since his heart is not, he have to come across as a mixture .

Maybe, I am drifting away from the topic and not making sense but I will continue saying this that I expect Shaurya TO DO WRONG BUT IN A MORE RIGHT WAY.

Jealousy is a strong emotion- and Shaurya is an insecure man in terms of relationships so he will act as to what he have been fed all his life but Anokhi is just that thread of courage which will force him to alter his beliefs.

@bold: he may not exactly say gold digger (the spoiler articles could be paraphrasing) but something along those lines but Anokhi will get that idea. Shaurya often says things the gravity of which he only realises later, like he did with Aastha.

I'm okay with Shaurya's harshness as long as there is a slow change that happens. He can change his imbedded regressive mentality if he prioritizes Anokhi's happiness.

The difference between Shagun and Anokhi is that Shaurya didn't love Shagun to want to change for her. Anokhi will be a different story. When his innate nature keeps butting heads with Anokhi's, he will slowly evolve and change tactics.

We've already seen a much softer Shaurya. I hope that continues. It will be five steps forward, three steps back for ShaKhi :-) I'm ready for that roller coaster ride!

I don't want Anokhi to change Shaurya with her lectures but he should change by observing her, and learning to accept her choices.

Great point about how he can’t see a man and woman are just being good friends. And it is Shaurya’s regressive thinking that’s leading to his jealously, whether we want to believe it or not. He wants to be the dominant male in the equation. Shaurya is chivalrous but that doesn’t mean he appreciates a woman’s independent thinking especially if that woman is a prospective romantic partner for him. With Shagun, he would listen and then dismiss her remarks as a lecture. He uses the same words and tone with Anokhi as well. So while he listens and doesn’t generally interrupt (which is great, no doubt) it does look like he looks down on women speaking up too much and will dismiss as “yet another lecture”. Shaurya definitely gets the benefit of the doubt for many things he says due to his upbringing but at times I do wonder if it’s right to excuse everything based on that? Can everything he says or does be justified because he lacked parental love growing up? Eventually when can we say he is crossing the line?

I do think Shaurya is much milder than Sankho and I think that’s attributed to how a few tracks have been treated in SAAKK eg the ragging track. So he definitely scored some points with me based on his behavior in those tracks. Of course it worked well since he was a savior and knight in shining armour. So it went with the chivarlous nature of the character. But he did come across as a decent man underneath all the prejudice.

the last episode where he helps Anokhi with the goons - she surprised him bcuz she doesn’t want to go with him in the car bcuz of his soch - was a glimpse into their future. When she explained the diff between men and women and walking out on street at night and the typical mentality, he listened but has no reply. And then he went back to his possessive nature asking her where she’s going.

So I think Shaurya is less rude IMO than Sankho and comes across as more Professor like. Nothing to do with the romance angle. The same can be said for Anokhi and Mohor too. Anokhi is also milder when compared to Mohor but the essence of the character is still the same.

As a viewer, I’m getting tired of the damsel in distress moments but I think I see where the CVs are going with it. Shaurya seems to expects Anokhi to reciprocate all he’s done for her and appreciate it. He thinks this is what will make a woman fall for him. Being a protector. But that’s not Anokhi. And when that view of Shaurya is finally challenged (sort of started already in the last episode) it’s going to be the real start of the love story. Anokhi was more independent in Kapurtala bcuz it was her hometown and she did not have the same challenges she now has in Chandigarh. I think the independent girl will make a comeback now that’s she settled and it will be interesting to see how their story evolves

Everything you said is bang on. While Shaurya respects women, he still believes in stereotypes like men should be chivalrous and women should be submissive.

But I think it's going to happen bcz in the OG Shagun has a lengthy role. She is still there in the recent episodes and is constantly stirring trouble.

Yes👍🏼

I have read the updates

I don't like this shrestha/shagun track tbh

Will be better if they just focus ShaKhi, their different goals , ideologies and lives , and how will they handle their relationship amidst that

This vengeful ex gf track will make show lose some of its appeal 🤔

Especially if they stretch it like OG

I hv zero interest in pati, patni aur woh drama

I just want Shagun to show up and make Shaurya own up to his feelings. That's it. She wanted him to fall in love not separate him so that he can understand the 'dard' of not getting his love...

Yup , that would be enough and fine 👍🏼

So far they're doing a good job so I expect makers to handle this shagun track carefully too
