RanVeer OS: His Repentance
Veer came out of the OT after successfully doing Rani's surgery and informed Vikram and Birju about the same.
"Now, Birju please tell what happened and who did this to her and Ramu kaka?" Veer asked and Birju started explaining about what happened with them near the jail premises.
"Oh my god! She went alone! Thank goodness you followed her and took her here on time or else.... " Veer couldn't even imagine the worse scenerio in his mind as it would break his heart to a thousand pieces.
"But its you saved her Doctor! So thank you! " For the first time Birju said something as nice as this to Veer. But all Veer did was smile weakly in return as he was still not fine, his energy would be back the moment he sees her back to her talkating self.
"Hmm! And are you fine? Did you get hurt or something? " Veer added changing the topic.
"No i am fine! " Birju retorted back.
"I will believe if some doctor informs me that!"
"Doctor Karan? " Veer called iut as he he halted a passing by doctor.
"Yes Surgeon!"
"How is the other patient? The one who came with the police! "
" He is fine! Though he was stabbed multiple times but he still is doing fine! "
"Ok! Please check him if he is completely fine as he was in that chaos too! " Doctor Karan nodded and took Birju with him for check up.
"Bro you need to rest too! " Vikram said
"I am fine Vikram, i will just come in a few minutes after changing all this. " Veer quickly dismissed him and went to change his surgery clothes.
Once Veer was back, he found Vikram already there.
"Vikram go home! I will be there!" Veer informed.
"But bro you need rest! " Vikram said as he could clearly notice the exhaustion on Veer's face.
"Don't worry i will! Once she gets awake, i will surely do rest! "
"No you won't! Then you will be busy in taking her care but bro to take her care you beed to be fit yourself too and just can't let yourself be depresses. "
"These arguments can surely affect the judge but not me Vikram so go! " Veer firmly stated to which Vikram finally left shaking his head.
Once he left, Veer went to sit on the chair near her and slowly observed the bandages on her head.
"Now you are grounded for a lifetime Rani! I won't allow you to go anywhere without my permission! Today, in the condition i saw you was so terrifying and horrible for me that i don't want to remove my gaze from you even for a second or else god knows what trouble you will get yourself in! And today i also realized that i can bear anything and any kind of pain but i can't bear loosing you! I just can't! This is the second time i operated you and the fear level only rose a thousand times more in me! Though thank god that i wasn't numb at the moment and acted how a doctor should had!" He told a sleeping Rani.
"Bauji Bauji.. " She uttered in her sleep disturbing his trance of thoughts and he immediately held her hand in security and caressed her head in assurance.
"Rani, he is fine! But you need rest! Please calm down and sleep! " He said softly and as if she listened, her body calmed down as she rested. Veer sighed in relief seeing her relaxed.
A few hours later, Rani woke up to find everyone looking at her as if she was a new born baby and treating her the same way too except Veer who was not saying anything but stealing glances of her while she talked with others.
After everyone was done meeting her, Veer went and slowly sat on the chair near her bed which became his spot for some reason and everyone knew that like when everyone was present, no one sat on the chair except Rajmata of course and not even Birju.
"Rani, how are you feeling now? " He asked to initiate a conversation with her as till now everyone else was there to do that while he quietly observed her and now he himself had to make the effort.
"I am Fine Doctor Sahab but bauji?" She asked as her father was her top most priority not her health.
"He is fine and resting in his own room, and don't worry there is security as well as Birju is there tio so don't worry about him! " To which she hesitantly nodded her head and the room fell in an uncomfortable silence as they both didn't know how to steike a conversation at the moment.
"Uhh.. I am sorry Rani! " He blurted out his constant thought and then she remembered about the letter he gave.
"Doctor Sahab i already forgave you! " She added.
"I know you did Rani but it's not for that it's for cutting your call that time when you needed me the most and not realizing that you must be in trouble if you had called me! I am sorry Rani! I promise i won't do that in future! Infact you can use it to irritate me by calling a hundred times a day but i promise i won't cut your call this time! " He confessed honestly.
She looked shocked at him.
"That's not needed Doctor Sahab! I believe you! And thankyou for saving my life! "She said.
"By saving your life i saved someone else's life too so you don't need to thank me! " He stated aa he clearly knew that he saved his own life by saving her's but the pure innocent she was, wouldn't understand that at the moment.
"Whose life? " She asked confusingly to which he smiled at her naivety and an half expected reply.
"That's a topic for some other time, now you need to have your medicines! " He said as he looked at the clock and then at her.
Seeing the colourful tablets in his hand, she made a face and turned towards other direction.
"Rani please take your medicines! At this rate you won't be able to recover fast and i want you to get back to normal as fast as you can! " He said to which she looked at him as if he had grown two horns.
"Doctor Sahab, I am fine! " She tried to avoid the tablets.
"No you are not! So don't argue with your doctor on such things! And I will take care of you so no arguments!" He sternly said to which she immediately took the meds in one go without fussing much over them that how bitter there taste was.

For the next two weeks , Veer became super protective for her, not letting her do even the tiniest bit of things on her own. Maybe he took his 'I will take care of you!' way too seriously that at some point she got irritated at the continuous baby treatment from him. Like, there were times, she had to litrelly push him out of her hospital room to go do his work and not just take care of her. Even after pushing him away, in the next moment she would see Vikram entering to give her the company until Veer arrives again. This went on for every day till she got discharged abd even then he was at her service 24/7. Infact "Your Husband Veer is on your service 24/7 Bhabhisa! " Vikram once joked which got him an angry "get out" from Veer while she just chuckled at them.

After almost a month, She was almost recovered with only a few name sake bandages on her head and she was bored so she looked at Veer meaningfully.
Veer, who was sitting beside her bed, reading some patient's file felt a pair of eyes staring at him so he looked in her direction to find her looking at him intently.
"Rani why are you looking at me like that? Do you want something? " He aaked raising his eye brow at her.
" Yes! I am getting bored so.. " She started
"You can watch TV or some movie! " He said cutting her in between and passing the remote of tv to her.
"No i want to go out! " She said bluntly as now a days he wouldn't dare say no to her and she was getting habitual to it.
"That's no way possible until you get fully recovered so don't even bother! " And here she was wrong that he would allow. She tried giving her most innocent look to which he sighed.
"Fine! But not now! I will take you somewhere but in night!" He said.
" But! "She started to try negotiate with him.
"Either this or nothing Rani! " He saud ready to take the deal off.
"Ok Fine! "
"Good! Now rest so that you have all the energy for tonight. " He said as he made her lay on the bed comfortably.
Later in the night Rani stepped in the Rooftop area of the mansion along with Veer and was spellbound to see the beautiful arrangement. The shimmery lights, the soft blue and white decor, balloons, and a dining table set for two. It was like a romantic movie was going to happen in front of her eyes.
"What's all this Doctor Sahab?"She asked removing her gaze from the beautiful decor to look at him.
"All this is for you Rani! " He stated with a smile.
"Me? It wasn't necessary... " She tried to argue.
"It was Rani! It was! Because you are important to me and that day at the hospital when i saw you lying lifelessly on the floor with you covered in your own pool of blood, i realized your importance in my life, that how you became my centre of gravity. And till now the things i have done weren't enough to make you feel special so i took this opportunity to deliver this important piece of information to you Rani that You are important to me, Rani Veer Pratap Singh Rajawat! And so doing all this was vital for me! I hope you liked all this! " He completed with moistened eyes.
"Like? I love this Doctor Sahab! And thankyou so much for doing all this for me!" She said looking at the decoration in awe while he smiled in satisfaction admiring the childish innocence on her face
And that was his way of repenting for all his mistakes in the past at once because not everytime life gives us a second chance and the fear of almost loosing her got engraved in his heart for a lifetime so doing all this was vital indeed.
