I think he wants to change the equation between the two of them subconsciously but also knows that in the eyes of the world, that might be seen as not kosher. So he's saying are you worried of what people will think because he himself is worried of what they might think. His own insecurities were coming out through the whole car ride because his mind is all over the place.
Exactly. Love this explanation! This might also explain why he insists on her dropping the Sir. To move away from that professor and student relationship. Even if their age difference wasn’t much, it’s still a tricky situation due to the labels and complexity in their relationship. It’s always been personal from the start but a romantic angle makes it even more tricky. Even though he resigned, he’s still the director of SIAC and former professor.
And then more conventional, he’s a Sabherwal too. So that will eventually be an issue down the line typical cliches of upper class and middle class relationships
Totally. Another reason he is jealous of ahir is bc he is younger than him. Shauryas professor, director image in this case with anokhi isn’t helping him. He def did think abt people and his family w societal acceptance in the future. Obs I see so many people having an issue w their relationship .. astha may be one of them
I’m enjoying the now but it will be fun to see how he handles his “rules are rules” and professional ethics concerning anokhi ..
Aastha is going to be the surprise element her. Eventually down the line she will support them but she won’t initially. I don’t think it’s even about the professor and student angle. She’ll be worried for Anokhi and Shaurya since she knows well what the Sabherwals represent firsthand. Anokhi she knows very well and she is the completely antithesis of what the Sabherwals believe in. Their rules and family norms. Match made in hell really. Apart from the family matter, Aastha may be worried about her son in a marriage given he’s grown up in a torn household. Not to say children who grow up in torn or toxic households can’t find love and success in relationships but there’s still a lot healing left. And his views on marriage and roles in a marriage are still very much intact and the same since the start of the show. Let’s see. So much scope for the future
I think his log kya kehenge was along the lines of what will people say abt him being older and she so young together or just him and her together and his together was more than just student teacher .. it was more like he is older and she’s younger. I think all his subconscious thoughts on she’s young and he’s older, don’t call me sir, date .. came out today. When she said ap bade hain and respectable .. he had a look on bade with his fidgety fingers but he said respectable .. wow, all choked up 😆
He completely ignored the bade part. To him I think that’s what log kya kahenge was probably .. unconsciously he is thinking of her and being together w her on a personal level. But knows it’s weird w professor and age gap stuff so he just randomly blurted out - don’t call me sir
That’s my two cents ..
Yes!! I love how they are not hiding anything and at least trying to bring it to light and address it in the show. Instead of brushing it under the carpet, it makes the story stand out and the challenges somewhat unique because they r being addressed, even if in an indirect, subtle and slightly comicial manner at the moment
I’d love to think of Anokhis perspective down the line on the age gap and professor-student thing. She believes in love n respect in a relationship (per dialogue with Babli) and if a man will give her that, does his age matter? I think she’ll have a pretty mature take on this topic down the line and will eventually put Shaurya’s current insecurities at ease.

I completely agree🤣
It seems too much of a coincidence after the follow up action😆

+ she was sad when she came to know Monty was not even 10 th pass.
While here Shaurya is well educated.
So,Anokhi ke liye age will be no issue but soch definitely will be....
As,she even mentioned in yesterday's episode when he asks meri car mai kya problrm hai?
A-Problem car mai nahi aapki soch mai hai...

Excellent point. Re: Monty
Shaurya is an educated man and that’s one point that both leads connect on. I’d love to see more emphasis on that education connection and that having conversations about that important facet of their life.
And yes, shaurya has a long way to go with regards to his soch. His heart is in the right place but theres a lot of growth opportunity for him and that soch aspect is v important to Anokhi.
So excited for their story and hope they can keep the other family members interference to a minimum in the early stages at least. They have so much potential on their own.

You are absolutely right. She knows what the sabherwal represent and that is all opposite of what anokhis dreams are. Plus astha would never want the same thing to happen to her as it happened w her and shaan. It will be interesting to see bc shaan loved astha too but couldn’t stand up to his family for astha. So astha might say that love isn’t everything and shaurya doesn’t even believe in having a wife with dreams like anokhis. Def will be very interesting when the time comes

Yes I’d love to see what she thinks abt her and shaurya esp w the age gap and student professor thing. Right now and I think I’m the future she will be aloof and totally oblivious.
she may not even know when she will fall in love actually
