In the fight, Sai had given plenty of indications that his history with Pakhi and their deal marriage was a hurdle in their marriage. But I guess even so, Virat didn't register this fact?

No, it hasn't changed, he is more bothered with the fact that she cannot like him or love him and he doesn't think or feel that this information is the reason for her staying detached.

But from what we know about Virat, he has definitely registered this information and hopefully will try that she doesn't misunderstand further. Him sharing about it with Pakhi while apologising for Sai's behavior kind of gave a hint to him that Pakhi has probably not moved on or he atleast understands that Pakhi doesn't want him to move on. So Sai's confrontation along with this encounter with Pakhi will make him maintain a distance with Pakhi hopefully.
