How can she suddenly have this change of heart... It's all acting...That lady has stooped beyond even her mother. I think she is playing everyone as she is afraid Ani will find Sumati's truth. Now when the time comes she will conveniently again blame her parents for everything and cry crocodile tears. If the makers want to whitewash her, they should have her confess to each and everything that she did. Then walk out of the haveli to never come back for repentance. That might redeem her character by 1%.
