Remember Rajeev Khandelwal aka Sujal Garewal from Kahiin Toh Hoga? He has been blissfully married for a decade now. And it was only recently when the actor opened about his love story with his ladylove Manjiri Kamitkar. Rajeev has been a part of many popular TV shows as well as films. However, it was because of Kahiin Toh Hoga that the actor became a household name. And with his on-screen portrayal of Sujal Garewal, Rajeev got a lot of love and affection from girls. It wouldn't be wrong to say that the actor is still loved by women. And it is all because of his charming personality.

Despite the massive female fan following that he has, Rajeev is very much loyal to his wife and loves her to infinity and beyond. In an exclusive interview with Times Now Digital, the actor recalled the time when he realised Manjiri was the one for him.

"Maybe after a few years of marriage. I realised when I spent time with her that she is the one for me. When you spend time with each other, you discover each other very well. Before marriage, you just know each other. You probably just put up the best picture of yourself. Because after you spend a couple of years with each other, is when you discover each other. And yes, after a couple of years into our marriage, I realised that she is the one for me," the actor said.

On being asked about the qualities that he admires about his beloved wife, Rajeev stated, "She is a very positive person and that's the one thing that I really like about her. Second, I think she lives in the moment. Third, she is super confident about herself. She is extremely secure and confident about herself. She is not insecure."

The actor went on to reveal that his wife is not insecure about the attention that he gets from his female fans. "I have been part of projects where women really kind of like those projects. I mean, I get a lot of love and affection from women, which is not for me but the image that they have for me. So, for Manjiri to not be insecure and kind of be confident about herself, she must have not seen all of that because she is not in front of the press. And she doesn't like doing that. She wants to live her life in her way and the best thing is that she is what she is. There's not a bit of make-up in her personality," he said and signed off.

Rajeev Khandelwal: Caste-based discrimination still exists

MUMBAI: Actor Rajeev Khandelwal says the younger generation is breaking out of socially imbalanced norms but caste-based discrimination continue to exist. It is something, the actor says, makes his new teleplay, Court Martial, relevant.

"The play was written in 1991 but the issues it raises are still relevant. Things definitely have changed for the better but there is a large section of society that still believes in a medieval system of caste-based discrimination," Rajeev said.

"Yes, the younger generation is breaking out of such socially imbalanced norms but discrimination does exist and that is what the play highlights. The aspect of the play that touched me the most was definitely the climax. To process how the oppressed see the world was both heartbreaking and eye-opening," added the actor, who is seen in the role of an idealistic lawyer in the teleplay.

The Zee Theatre teleplay tells the story of Jawan Ramchander, who has been accused of killing two senior officers. During the ensuing Court Martial, the defence lawyer Bikash Roy, played by Rajeev, convinces his counterparts and viewers alike that Ramchander deserves justice rather than punishment.

The play is directed by Sourabh Shrivastava and also stars Govind Pandey, Bhagwan Tiwari, Saksham Dayma, and Swapnil Kotiwar. It airs on Airtel Spotlight.
