She is swinging on both sides. What I think about Nikki is that she clearly joined Ruby because she saw the popularity and she will stick to whoever has more influence. That's why she listened to the seniors because she saw them as superior. She tried to stick with Rahul too but he didnt return the feeling so she stuck with Ruby because Ruby has returned the friendship and genuine bond has been created.

She doesnt want to let go of Rahul and co either because she does enjoy their company too. So right now shes on both sides.
