@all: For next month’s BOTM, we will try and read 2 romance novels since you can get through them quickly. Initially I thought we’d pick 2 books by CH but then that might be an overdose, so now I think we should pick a recent highly rated romance novel and one of Hoover’s recent books.
Let me know what you’ll think. Would you want just 1 romance novel by any author or one by CH and another by any author?

Yeah the best part of IEWU id that it addresses a social issue which many women face in real life. I heard her recent novels are not as good.

I am fine with reading one novel by CH and another by someone else. I am already excited to read 2 romance novels Are you planning to select Layla by any chance, as thats her latest book?😆 I read the prologue but didnt feel like continuing because it was in males POV. I need to get back to it.

I’m trying out K-dramas these days and I plan to watch a Turkish show. Indian & Pakistani dramas don’t have much to them these days.

Yeah, the writers these days are not that good. Kankar was by Umera Ahmed, the best writer and Yakeen Ka Safar was by Farhat Ishtiaq. Both are one of the best writers in Pakistan. You can give any of their dramas a try, they never disappoint. Umera Ahmeds last drama was Alif which is a spiritual story and Farhats last one was Yeh Dil Mera, a romantic thriller.

I had quit indian dramas too but recently started Ghum Hai Kisi Ke Pyaar Mein...I like the couple😆

@Hinna: I really want to get to some long fantasy books this year so my goal is 30 books. What about you?

@Anam: One book by CH and one book by another author is fine with me. What's her recent though? Regretting You? Is Layla a romance too? I know it has some paranormal element to it. I thought it was a thriller. 😳

Please choose one romance where there is a hate to love trope. If it's fine with everyone, of course.😆

I have only watched Suno Chanda (in fact I am re-watching it now) Do Bol, Anaa and few episodes of Aangan. I want to watch YKS and ZGH. I will add Kankar to the list too. Thank you for the recommendation.

Ghum Hai.... is good. (I don't watch it regularly) I like the couple too and they have wonderfully written scenes.

@anam whatever you guys decide is fine by me. I am a sucker for good romance. So 2 or 20 doesn't make much difference for me.

I Have seen some Turkish shows back in the days. I can only remember feriha now.

@Anam: Two books is fine by me too. I don't know if I'll be able to finish both with how slow I read but I'll give it my best.

I'm probably the only one here who doesn't watch any TV shows. 😆

Layla is a romance of a guy torn between 2 girls. I never knew its a thriller. That makes me wanna read it now.😆

I am fine with hate to love trope.

@Hinna: I was thinking of including Layla but was on the fence because of it belonging to the paranormal genre. I want a pure romance for next month’s pick so I might just end up picking up an older novel of Colleen Hoover’s. You read Layla and tell us if it is worth reading.

The last Hindi show I was invested in was Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon and that was also a decade ago. Besides that, Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai was another favourite.

Since Shreya mentioned it I remembered I also watched the first season of Suno Chanda; it was fun. The second season was OTT with Iqra’s horrendous acting.

I don’t feel like watching desi shows, they have been such a letdown in the recent past. Although, I do want to check out a show with Bilal Abbas in it at some point, he is supposed to be really good.
I’ve never heard of Ghum Hai Kisi Ke Pyaar Mein, it shows how disconnected I am from Indian dramas.

@Shreya: Even I want to read a romance novel with the hate to love trope. I have a couple of books in mind, I have to finalise one of them.

You & Diya are choosing a Fantasy novel for March. I’m excited about what you’ll decide on.

@Shanam: Feriha was a huge deal about 3-4 years ago. The problem with Turkish shows is that they have 100+ episodes and that’s time consuming to watch.

@Diya: Don’t worry, you’ll get through them. Romance novels usually are very easy to read. If you are having trouble, just read any 1 of them.

It’s a good thing you don’t watch tv shows, the disappointment and heartbreak a tv show can give (if you are hooked onto it) is on another level.
