He reminds me so much of Kabir Singh

Hi everyone! I watched Kabir Singh two days ago. I am not a fan of toxic masculinity, but wow, Shahid was convincing. Incidentally, I was also catching up on some episodes of this show called 'Kahiin Toh Hoga' that aired early last decade. It was a huge hit, atleast the Rajeev Aamna pairing I think.

I saw some videos on this story and pair on youtube recently (sharing those below) and I felt Rajeev Khandelwal was so much like the Kabir Singh of Indian TV. Does anyone feel the same? He played Sujal Garewal and the screen presence he carried was amazing.

Anyone else thinks that Rajeev Khandelwal had so much potential to do such roles on the big screen too? Shahid nails intense / dark roles. The Kabir Singh / Sujal Garewal kinda roles are complex and garner such accolades.. I wish Rajeev had the chance to play more such roles on the big screen.

Their love story also had so much of the Kabir-Preeti vibes (quite intense and self-destructive) except Kashish was not as crazily in love with Sujal, as Preeti still was with Kabir

Kabir Singh was a MCP. Sujal was not.

Some of the videos I see of them online are so interesting, I always thought he was obsessed with Kashish

I remember watching only a glimpse of them on tv.....they were standing close and mumma ne tv bandh kar di😭 . That's my only memory of them...later I knew their name. The vm is nice

Kabir Singh was an abusive/obsessive character from the way he "courted" the girl to the breakup and beyond.

Sujal, on the other hand ... He was a sweetheart even though he did go off the rails after Kashish married Piyush, who was the biggest kabab mein haddi if ever there was one!

Man, that show was such a torture always keeping them on the verge of getting together but never actually getting together cuz of the silliest misunderstandings! I'd never watch a show like that again but I had my phase. I was in love with their signature music from the song Thoda sa pyar huwa hai ... it stayed with me and still remains one of my favorite songs of all time.

One good thing about Sujal was, he never slept around like Kabir did to cope with his physical needs. Sujal was as broken as Kabir! Everyone broke him too, but he rose up to challenging Kashish and Piyush and almost destroyed them. Sujal destroyed others, whereas Kabir destroyed himself.

Kabir loved Preethi with the same intensity, but he responded differently. He became self destructive, drinking, abusing, got into drugs, slept around, lost his mind. But the intensity with which both the guys loved their girls and the way they hurt inside was so similar!

Even kasturi had the same plotline. Basically all young angry men on TV were modelled after Sujal
