After trying for months to lure Mallika Sherawat to play the lead opposite him in a Desi version of 'My Cousin Vinny', Govinda has finally given up hopes and has instead opted for Lara Dutta to play his co-star.
Govinda had proposed the role to Mallika over the phone, but then, the actress started ignoring his calls and apparently, did not even bother replying to his SMS. The actor however, was quite persistent and pursued her for a month, but finally Chi-Chi had to give up on Mallika.
Lara has now been signed for the project which is titled 'Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai' and she will be playing the role of Marisa Tomei; and the actress is quite excited as the role has great potential; besides, Marisa had even won an Oscar for her role in 'My Cousin Vinny'.
Lara and Govinda have been quite lucky together as first 'Bhagam Bhag' and then, 'Partner' were declared as superhit blockbusters last year. There is however, a different spin this time as Lara and Govinda will be paired opposite each other for the first time.
So lets see if the two 'Partners' are able to work the same 'Bindaas' magic this time as well with the audiences.
