Hello everyone 🤗

I have been a little busy for some time. The reason I was not able to come to IF. I wrote another OS. Jay is still the bad guy in this one. I hope you all enjoy the read. Do let me know in the comments.

~~~
Bani stood in front of Jay.
"Usne mujhe pinjre mein band kar diya thha Bani." Veer's voice resonated in her mind.
Her knuckles had gone white from clenching her fists too hard, and gritted teeth from effort to remain silent, her eyes changing their color in anger. Scales forming on her body. The mere thought of Veer feeling powerless made her body burn. She had an extreme urge to strike Jay there and then and kill him with her poison. No explanation, no confrontation, just death. Cold and brutal. Her posture exuded an animosity that was like acid - burning, slicing, potent. Her face was red with suppressed rage, and when Jay stepped towards her trying to say something, she mentally snapped.Jay Mathur almost killed her husband.
Not just that, Bani remembers every single thing. Thinking about every time when Jay opened his mouth for planning and plotting she got angrier. "Apna maksad yaad rakho Bani", "Cheelon se badla lena hai tumhe", " Veer kisi jaan leni hai tumhe". At first she used to swallow her retort and believe him, even co-operate with him , execute the plans and move on. But that only made it worse. Unaware because of her own stupidity, she had taken Veeranshu to the jungle full of land mines. She knows her God will not forgive her for that mistake. She does not understand how and why Jay felt empowered to micromanage every little aspect of her life, every damn thing done his damn way. The bad got worse because she let him.
"Bani ab bass, humara yahaan rehna theek nahi hai. Humme Singhania house chhodke chale jana chahiye." Jay continued to speak after reminding her of her purpose and enemies.
Bani's eyes burnt. She got herself into this mess, even dragged Veer with her. Jay kept speaking, half of which she was not able to comprehend because she was getting reminded of all the crime and wrong doing of Jay. He killed Panditji, he tried to kill Veer and he even tried to kill her.
Jay had honestly not anticipated what followed Bani's silence. The slap was as loud as a clap and stung his face. It had been an open-handed smack and it had left a red welt behind. Just below his eye was a small cut where her ring had caught him. He staggered backwards, clutching his face, eyes watering. Bani had slapped him. He needed a few moments to let that sink in.
Enough. All that rage came out faster than magma and just as destructive. It consumed all that she was. Jay had the audacity to do everything he did and now he looked so prim and proper. Bani knew she was trying to stop short of physical violence but she could not contol herself. Something about Jay's demeanor triggered her.
Bani's eyes turned red as the Jay yelled at her. His ego more bruised that his face. He spit taunts at her. He tried to attack her but magic stopped him. He looked up to see that Daksh was stopping his hand from reaching near Bani. An open threat on Daksh's face.
"Uss Veeranshu ke pyaar mein paagal ho rahi ho Bani. Tumhara joda main hu, Satuyg se lekin pata nahi uss cheel ne kaun sa jaadu kar diya hai tumpe ke tum hum sab ko dhoka de rahi ho. Mujhe, Naaglok ko aur Bholenath ko bhi."
"Bakwaas kar rahe ho tum Jay. " Bani yelled. Jay looked unimpressed.
A cruel sneer formed on his smooth face and he leaned forward, eyes bearing straight into hers. "Agar tum Adi Naagin ho toh main Adi Naag hoon Bani, tumhe mere paas aanaa hoga, mere aage jhukna hoga."
Bani's hands twitched and she could feel a vein pulsing in her forehead. "Kuch nahi ho tum Jay, Khokle ho tum. Jhoot, fareb aur makkari ke alawaa kuch nahi ho tum."
Daksh threw Jay's luggage down from the lobby.
"Mere ghar se niklo Jay Mathur, tumhara faisla toh main kal Naag lok mein karungi. Dafaa ho jaao yaha se." Bani gave him a silent threat.
Bani summoned her tail and threw Jay's luggage out of the mansion.
"Asli faisla toh yeh hai Adi Naagin ke main jahaan jaaunga tumhe mere saath aanaa hoga. Hum alag ho hi nahi sakte." Jay smiled devilishly. He had to keep trying. He desperately wants Bani's powers.
"Hum kabhi ek thhe hi nahi Jay aur na kabhi ho sakte hai. Main tumhe aakhri baar warn kar rahi hu, nikal jaao yahaan se varna mere ek ishaare par Veeranshu, Daksh aur Ponky tumhe noch khaaenge."
"Nahi jaaunga." Jay screamed. Bani did not want to put up with his nonsense anymore. She saw that Jay was about to summon his naag roop but before he could do that she wrapped his body with her tail and threw him in the air, making sure that he is out of the property.
~~~

Veer relaxed on his couch. The wine bottle in his hand was the customary green, yet deeper where the red wine sat within. Unlike the bottles in the cellar it had a shine to it that accentuated the age of the label, time-yellowed with corners that curled. He lazily poured one glass for himself when Bani entered the room.

"Veeranshu abhi lunch time hone wala hai aur tumhe daaru ki pyaas lagi hai?" Her brow irritatedly raised.

"Mera ghar, mera kamra, meri bottle, main jo chaahe karoon gharwaali." Veer announced.

"Theek hai, apni marzi karni hai naa karo. Daaru peeyo, daaru mein nahaao, daaru mein doobon, mujhe kya. Tumhe toh main baad mein theek karti hoon." She was visibly annoyed. She walked towards the cupboard to find her yellow saree which Mehek wanted to wear for her college event.

Veer was not surprised when he read Bani's body language. She was furious. After all why would she not be? He saw everything that happened in the hall.

He was very happy witnessing that she threw the dhaabewala out of their house. Quite literally. He was standing in the lobby the entire time. She did not notice him but he was there. The very reason he wanted to sip some wine was to celebrate Jay's dramatic exit.

"Kya kar rahi ho?" Veer enquired trying to have a conversation with her.

"Tumhe apni cheel ki nazar se dikh nahi raha? Saadiyaan nikal rahi hoon?" Bani carelessly threw her sarees on the bed trying to find that particular saree.

"Kyon sweet heart? Tum bhi saman pack karke ja rahi ho kya?" Veer cutely wiggled his eyebrows. Bani is such a treat for him, especially when she is all riled up. He thoroughly enjoys her reactions when he pushes all the wrong buttons inside her at such times. After all a little fun and play would not hurt anyone.

"Main kahaan jaungi Veeranshu?" Bani looked at him.

"Mujhse dur, uss chepu champak jal kukde dhaabewaale ke saath." Veer stood up from the couch as he made a puppy face and Bani's eyes widened in absolute shock. What on earth makes him think that she will go with Jay? Her temperament on the verge of blowing out of proportion. But she wanted to control it. She did not want to fight with Veer.

"Veeranshu Singhania tumhe aisa kyon lagta hai ke main apna ghar chhodke uss Jay ke saath jaaungi."

"Maybe because tum Adi Naagin ho aur woh Adi Naag." Veer knew that he was treading on thin ice, that he was taking this a little too far. Bani will be really upset. His heart knew that Veer and Bani belong together. He knew that she will choose to be with him if at all she needs to make a choice. But he wanted to hear her say that. He wanted her to express her feelings for him. He wanted her to say that she wants this marriage as much as he wants it and if talking to her in such a way is what it is going to take. He is willing to take the risk.

"Kis mitti ke bane ho Veeranshu? Tum aisa soch bhi kaise sakte ho ke main uss Jay ke saath kahi bhi jaaungi? Mujhse aise baat karne ki himmat bhi kaise hui tumhari?" Bani's eyes teary and red at the same time.

"Kyon naa karu main tumhaare saath aise baat? Main tumhaari bohot fikar karta hoon sweet heart lekin kya tumhe meri zara si bhi parwah hai? Kya mere hone ya na hone se farq padta hai tumhe?" Bani was amazed at veer's audacity and more than that how casually he was able to sip wine after speaking in such a manner. Utter nonsense.

"Just to let you know Veeranshu mujhe bhi bohot fikar hai tumhari. Mujhe tumhaare hone farq padta hai aur tumhaare naa hone se bohot farq padta hai. Jab tum aas paas hote ho toh sochti hoon ki jo tumhe pasand hai woh apna loon aur jo napasand hai usse thukra doon. Jab tum mujhse dur hote ho toh ek ajeeb si bechaini hoti hai mujhe." Veer was kept looking at Bani, kept admiring everything that she had said. Her eyes brimmed with tears after a few moments.

"Sara kasoor iss karamjali bottle ka hai. Pet bharke peete ho phir jee bharke bakwaas karte ho. Pata nahi talli hone mein kaunse maze aate hai tumhe? Khud toh bigad hi rahe ho, tumhaari wajah se Daksh aur Ponky par bhi galat asar ho raha hai." Bani picked up the bottle from the table and threw it on the floor. Veer looked at her intently.

"Agar aaj ke baad iss kamre mein bewaqt sharaab aai naa toh bohot bura haal karungi tumhara Veeranshu." Bani gave him a look. Veer gave her the glass he was holding in his hand.

" Isse bhi tod do sweet heart." Bani was flabbergasted. Good gracious God, trust her husband with his whims. She snatched it and threw it away.

"Tumhe zara sa bhi andaza hai ke tum kabhi kabhi bohot ajeeb harkate karte ho. Bilkul naak mein dum."

"Jaanta hoon sweet heart. Main toh sirf tumhaare dil ki baat jaan na chahta thha. Sach jaan na chahta thha."

"Meri zindagi ka sabse bada sach tum ho Veer. Tumhaare naam ka sindoor aur mangalsutra hai. Tumhara poora parivaar hai.Tumse judi chhoti chhoti khushiyaan hai. Tumhe khush dekhne ka sukoon hai." Saying that she turned to go to the cupboard to get back to finding that saree when a small piece of glass pricked her foot.

"Bani..." Veer tried to stop her seeing her injury but she did not listen.

"Sweet heart..." He went to stand behind her.

"Tum jo kehna hai kaho Veeranshu. Mujhe tumhari koi baat nahi sunni... Naa tumse koi bhi baat karni hai." Bani was upset. He made her turn.

"Maine socha tumhaare saath zara sa mazaak kar loon. Please bura mat maano. I am sorry." He cupped her face. She held his hands and removed it.

"Jab tumne kahaan ke main tumhe chhodkar uss Jay ke saath jaungi toh mujhe bohot bura laga."

"Main toh bass tumhaare dil ka haal jaan na chahta thha. Yeh jaan na chahta thha ke tum mere liye kya feel karti ho."

"Kya aise ulti seedhi baatein karna koi tareeka hai feelings ke baare mein jaan ne kaa?"

"Agar main seedhe tareeke se poochta toh tum jawaab deti?" Veer looked away. Bani realized that he is right. She is the one who pushed him away when he tried to ask her about her feelings directly. She touched his face and made him look at her.

"I am sorry too." Bani apologized with a gentle peck on his cheek.

"Main tumse bohot pyaar karti hoon Veer. Main nahi jaanti ke kab aur kaise tum meri zarurat ban gaye. Tumhaari aadat si lag gayi hai."

He put his arms on both sides and enclosed her closest to him.

"I love you too sweet heart." He whispered in her lips.

She inwardly smiled thinking about this proximity. He does not realize still that his charm is able to get a grip over her senses. He brushed her hair back from her shoulder and moved in so close she can feel his chiselled body pressed up against her. Bani could feel his warmth and already her mind had placed their lips together again. But instead he leaned in to caress her neck, slow and gentle. The sweet nothings whispered by him teased her heart.

Bani had every intention of stepping away to dress her injured foot until his hand touches her face. The acceleration of her heart-rate has nothing to do with how Veer tried to know about her feelings and everything to do with what her body really wants. Him. Bani looked away as if the painting on the wall holds her attention, but after all this time he read her like a book, eyes on her chest rising and falling, her breathing patterns understood. With a gentle finger he reorients her face so that he holds the gaze she was hesitant to give him, stealing the passion from her eyes in a way that only magnifies the spark. There is no smile on his lips, only the hot intensity of his gaze that they both know is the start of the inferno to come.

He is all logic and feigned cool detachment until he touches her skin. Then something not only stirs in him, but it takes over his thinking. The rest of his world becomes an unimportant blur that gets banished into the far recesses of his mind. The only thing that matters is touching her. Being close to her. Being the husband that she wants. She is magic, pure magic.

She was completely mesmerized under his gaze as if it is a command, her lips quivering while his hands still corner both her sides. Her breathing hastened, the intense rhythm of her heartbeat underwent an irregular count, hammering quicker than the lightning bolt as his hand slithered toward her body, searching smoothly for the skin under the drape of her saree. Veer knew that he has done too much inconvenience to her for the day. Time to make up for it.

They both gazed in each others eyes longingly; not a word spoken by either of them. Bani was lost within the breathless paradise of his dreamy eyes and no sooner without any pause he clutched his hands unto her hips, leaning her in against his muscular body when she tried to get out of his grip; She was weakened by his gentle seductive touch.

He grabbed her by the waist, pulling her up close against his chest. His hand gently glided through her hair, as he looked at her in a way no man had ever looked her before. Her eyes lit a spark of passion... desire. As a small but teasing smile crept upon her face, goosebumps lined her skin, nothing else matters except right here, right now.

She let out a soft sigh. She kept looking at him. This proximity, it felt so calming and comforting. That very moment a look at Bani's foot reminded him of her injury and the expressions on his face changed. He was so worried. He immediately bent down to check her foot. It was a small cut. But bleeding.

"Zyada dard toh nahi ho raha naa?" He got up in another second and lifted her in his arms to carefully place her on the bed.

"Don't worry sweet heart main abhi first aid box lekar aataa hoon. Dawaai laga dunga toh chot bilkul theek ho jaaegi." He rushed out of the room to get the first aid kit. Bani was overwhelmed with so many emotions. How can he love her so much.

Bani cannot lie to herself anymore. This is what she wants. Veer is what she needs. She needs the innocence of his sleepy confused look when he wakes up in the middle of the night. She wants to slow dance with him to classic romantic songs when he does not feel like sleeping. She craves to be the warmth that fills the empty space in his bed. She wants to be the sheets his fingers crave at night. She is hoping for moments when she can lay bare beside him and he will undress her soul. She wants him to experience her naked emotions. She wants him to accept her with all her mistakes, with all her scars. Then and only then she will be worthy of his love. Then and only then she will truly be his wife.
