The minute she found Bollywood, she left the p0rn industry. The reason she came here was because she got fed up of working there...At that point she said she was only acting with her husband...

So you refuse to believe her? That’s your choice

She was sent to private schools, she was studying to be a nurse before she found her ‘calling’ ...

Bold - Why not? It’s not like before nowadays... People are more than willing to share their struggles, sad stories whether it happened or not... Victimhood is a currency nowadays, people revel in it, it earns you brownie points esp. if you’re a celebrity...

She was a Canadian doing her profession in Canada and America and it wouldn’t have hurt her if anything it would’ve helped her...

(So her honesty should be commended, kudos to her for owning up to it and not making up stories like some do)

She has never regretted her past when asked about it, she fully owns it (again kudos to her or pshaw depending on how you look at it)

She has stated that she chose to do it bcz she wanted to...

And she did not leave the adult industry the minute she found BW,

she was doing it until 2013, but started getting BW opportunities as early as 2005 (she still makes money thru her adult website)

Adult entertainment career doesn’t last long, it’s very short -lived and all p*rn stars have to look for a second career sooner or later, actually very sooner as nowadays their career span has become very short they say...

She did a great job confronting her ex-lover Rajesh Khanna who wasn't there for her. She had to deal with her younger sister's fiance who was one of her past clients, when the latter showed signs of withdrawing from the marriage. When the young man slapped her for "shaming" her orthodox Brahmin family she slaps him back and taunts him that he's equally at fault for soliciting her services. She even asked her mother why she chose to have so many children when they couldn't afford to take care of them. The ending is slightly different as Mumtaz's family kicks her out after knowing the truth while Rani's family accepts her. Plus Mumtaz's mother never knew the truth and knowingly "exploited" her daughter like Jaya Bachchan did with Rani.

Yes it was a remake of a Tamil movie by the same director

Bold - But Rajesh Khanna accepts her and marries her with his father’s blessing... Glad they gave her somewhat of a happy ending...

Yes, I do! Because I know girls who get these offers of making easy money...and most of the time, these offers are not decent. If she had a secure upbringing, it was her choice of getting into that. I wish no woman or man get in that situation in life when options like these appear to be the only rescue.

Oh, I didn't knew about that. I will watch Aaina as well then. I just love classics sometimes. Last classic I watched was Heer Ranjha!

Aaina sounds interesting too!!

Aha! That explains Nirupa Roy's unique saris and flowers worn on hair. So Aaina was one of those so-called "Madras" films of that era which were shot entirely in Madras studios. In those films only the cast, the script writer and the lyricist were from Bollywood. Unlike the typical Hindi films these were shot on a tight schedule, everyone was paid on time and the films raked in a tidy profit.

Rajesh Khanna marrying her was to give the audience a happy ending. She was past caring. Her family's rejection broke her. Remember her laughing like a maniac when he proposes. As far as she's concerned "Too little, too late".

The first half is a slog to get through. But after Mumtaz finds her voice it gets interesting. I believe it was one of her last films before she retired.
