A question about Koi Mil Gaya (and every other sci-fi movie ever made)

This is a very silly question to ask, but I've always wondered one thing while watching most old sci-fi movies.

That whenever there is a UFO (alien spaceship) sighting, the electricity supply of the whole area gets cut down along with that place getting an earthquake, and wherever the spaceship lands, it burns the surface below making a big pit.

This is something which is picked from real stories of UFO sightings, and it was shown in the Bollywood science fiction film Koi Mil Gaya as well (I have to remember that this is a Bollywood forum).

Lets consider that these UFOs are really alien spaceships. Is there any scientific reason for them to effect the electricity or cause earthquakes or burn the land where the spaceship lands?

Science geeks there? Can you answer?

The answers are because of electromagnetic wave interference and quantum pressure induction. It's pretty complicated and hard to explain here.

Burning the land due to combustion of fuel is possible

Generally, UFOs landing are soft so don't understand why would it leave marks?
