Part 13

Ishra marriage was fixed after ten days. Though bhallas wanted to do it soonish but Amma denied saying she needs some time to prepare for the marriage. If the marriage is not happening with her choice atleast she should get time to prepare and buy necessary things, all agreed to her as her demand was genuine. From next day both the families got busy in shopping and preparation of marriage. Today iyers had gone to buy cloths for bhallas and other relatives, so bhallas weren't there . They spend many hours at the mall and finally were going towards the billing counter. She held the trolly and told her parents " Amma appa, you don't need to stand here ,aap log ja kar car mein baitho , I will do the payment and come "

Amma- ok kanna ,waise bhi main bahut tired ho gayi hoon .

I- Haan Amma, aaplog mere liye kitna pareshaan ho rahe ho, jab ki bhalla aunty ne aur Raman sir ne kaha hai ki ye sab karne ki koi zaroorat nahi hai .

A- are you mad , unke Kahne se kya hota hai , I m doing this for you , for my daughter . Parents ki happiness to apne bachchon ke liye ye sab karne mein hi hoti hai .

Ishita smiled and said " acacia, now you people go and sit ."

They nodded and went while ishita moved towards payment counter .Ishita was standing in the queue when someone patted her shoulder, she turned back and found the sales girl . She gave her a questioning look when she informed

"maam aapki mother aapko wahaan bula rahin hai ."

I- wahaan ?,but maine to amma appa to wahaan baithne ko kaha .

Ishita murmured to herself while the girl said

" she told that she wants to show something to you ."

Ishita nodded and went to the direction , she was looking for her parents when she heard " tumhari mother ne nahi balki maine tumhe yahaan bulaya hai ."

Ishita turned listening to the voice and found shagun standing there . She came close to her and said " aise confuse hone ki koi zaroorat nahi hai ,I wanted to talk to you ,thats why I called you by lying a bit ."

I- but mujhe aapse koi baat nahi karni hai .

S- arey sun lo ,ye tumhare hi faayde ki baat hai .

I- bola na nahi .

S- I know that you two are not couple and just pretending ,and I m assuming that by seeing your looks . Dekho bura maan ne ki isme koi baat nahi hai but you know ,you are not his type ,main kabhi ye maan hi nahi sakti that you are his girlfriend. Dekho court ko to tum logo ne bewakoof bana liya but mujhe nahi bana paaoge because I know Raman more than him .

Ishita got little nervous as well as hurt, listening to this,she became quite for sometimes then thought " I knew that this will happen, Raman sir ne pahle hi bataya tha ,that shagun will catch us as soon as she sees me . No ishita you cannot let her win ,don't forget that you are doing this for Raman sir and ruhi ."

Ishita was lost in her thoughts when she heard shagun " dekha maine kaha na ,,you people can fool the court not me . Look girl , I don't have any enemity with you ,isliye tum beech mein may aao ,just move away from my path and let me get my daughter from Raman ."

I- listen ma'am ,main bahut der se aapki faaltu bakwaas ,bahut hi patience ke saath sun rahin hoon but that doesn't mean that you are right . Aur rahi baat mere Raman s.. I mean Raman ki girlfriend hone ki,to ab us baat ka koi Matlab nahi hai as we are going to get married . Aur jab shaadi sachchi hai to jhoothi relationship aur jhoothi girlfriend ka koi matlab nahi hai aur rahi baat type ki to I think it doesn't matter for him anymore. You were his type but what you did with him , you betrayed him .

Shagun got angry listening to her and said " aukaat mein raho apni , khud ko dekho aur mujhe dekho , don't you dare talk to me like that."

I- even I don't want to talk to you ,it was you who came here to give your useless advice to me .

S- huh ,I thought to warn you but seems you yourself want to ruin your life . Main to tumhari bhalaayi ke liye aayi thi .

I- thankyou somuch for your concern , now excuse me I m getting late .

S(angrily)- maine to tumhe seedhi saadhi ladki samjha but tum to bahut tez nikli but don't forget you are playing against shagun .

I- I just wanna know something ,nothing person just curious . It don't look that you love ruhi , she too is not found of you, your husband too don't look like a nice person,aapne ruhi ko uske birth ke baad chod diya tha then why do you want Ruhi now.

S- kyunki wo meri beti hai .

" Haan wo beti jise tumne janam ke baad chod diya " they listened from behind ,both turned and found Raman standing there . Ishita smiled on his sight while shagun got nervous ,ishita said

" Raman sir " happily while shagun said " Raman " annoyingly.

R- Haan main , I was in a meeting in the restaurant of this mall , uncle aunty se mila, they told me that you are here ,so I came to help you and think it was good decision .

He answered softly to ishita then glared shagun and said " aur shagun tum , mujhe samajh nahi aata ki jab tum meri zindagi se ja chuck ho to kyun baar baar mujhe pareshaan karne wapas aati ho . I never came into your life after you left me then why do you want to ruin my peace ."

S- I just want my daughter.

R- my daughter ,bullshit . I know you don't give a damn about ruhi ,just tell me what do you want . You know ,now I have enough money to pay you, bolo kitne paise chahiye tumhe .

S- Raman you are insulting me .

R- is it so , last time I knew that you left me because of money .

Shagun didn't spoke further ,just left glaring ishra while Raman walked to ishita and said " you are alright na ,tumhe kuch bola to nahi usne. "

Ishita smiled and spoke " bola to ,but I answered her back thats why she was frustrated. "

R- thats like my girl , seekh rahi ho mujhse .

Ishita smiled and walked towards the counter , Raman too walked behind her . They stood in the queue and started waiting for their turn. Soon they paid their bill and moved out of the mall ,while reaching to their car Raman assured ishita " ishita I know shagun must have told some bad things to you about your looks but I wanna tell you , looks doesn't matter,you are beautiful inside out ,so just ignore if someone mock you about that ."

Ishita blushed listening to this while Raman encircled his arms around her ,both were smiling fully looking into each other's eyes which was noticed my her parents . Mr iyer signaled his wife and said " can you see madhu ,how happy ishita is looking ."

Amma - I hope its genuine happiness.

Appa- you should think positively.

Amma- humm .

Ishra reached to them,all settled in their car and left . Ten days passed in jiffy in between the preparations, and today was ishra marriage. Though is was a small function but due to excitement of both the mothers had invited many friends and relatives, making it a grand one . But instead of being happy with the marriage, both side people were mocking ishra , bhallas people were not happy with ishita's look while iyer side people were mad for Raman being a divorcee and father. Toshiji answered then nicely but Amma was time and again being sad, and ishita has to convince her again and again.

Ishita got ready in her bridal attire wearing a orange kanjiwaram saree with lots of jewelry, her long hair were tied in a beautiful braid and was decorated with flower . As bhallas side people were talking over ishita's look, Amma has hired best beautician and instructed her to dress ishita so beautifully that all eyes should stop at her . Though ishita was making faces listening to her mother's instruction but Amma was stern in her decision . She knew that her daughter is beautiful its just she dresses carelessly . Keeping amma's words ,the beautician dressed ishita beautifully and she actually looks breathtaking . Now Amma was waiting eagerly for bhallas to see ishita .

Soon her wait was over and the barat arrived, Senior iyers welcomed bhalla family nicely . Raman settled in the mandap beside pandit ji. Pandit ji started chanting mantras and then called the bride ,listening to this all the ladies in bhallas side scrunched their nose ,Toshiji glared all of them while Amma proudly instructed ishita's cousins to bring her . She was eagerly waiting for the ladies reactions of ishita's sight .Soon all saw a very beautiful girl was brought ,all got shocked while Amma walked to ishita and said " come kanna ,sit beside your appa ."

She made ishita sit beside Mr iyer and said " itna surprise hokar kya dekh rahein hain aaplog ,ye meri ishu hi hai , wo hamesha se itni hi sundar thi ,its just she care less about her beauty ."

Raman who still has eyes on ishita, smiled and said " beautiful or not ,I like ishita the way she is , her outer beauty was never an issue for me but I must say she is looking ethereal now ,a beauty to behold in eyes .perhaps she is the most beautiful girl I had seen in my life ."

Ishita got overwhelmed listening to this while toshiji walked to her , she put a black mark behind ishita's ear and said " kisi ki nazar na lage meri bahu ko ."

All smiled listening to this while Mr bhalla said

" panditiji continue the ritual, muhurat ka samay ho gaya hai ."

Panditji nodded and started enchanting mantras.
