If AIIMS said suicide, it wasn't because they didn't have evidence it was not a murder. It was because there was physical evidence (limited to photographs and reports) to indicate suicide.

If SSR's family had doubts, they should have preserved the body for sometime. This would have given forensics experts to check for evidence. In absence of any dead body, AIIMS will draw conclusion from whatever is available to them.
